The letter is the beginning of peace talks, trading captives, etc-etc. Tyrion and Cersie have a discourse revolving around wedding Myrcella to Trystane Martell. Of course, the Martells have a hatred for the Lannisters due to what Gregor did. But Tyrion's position is that the Martells hatred is only 1 generation deep and could easily be remedied with this marriage; as well as gain the Lannisters/Baratheons of Kings Landing an ally, something that's more than few and far between for them at this point. Blazfemur Posted December 20, 2013 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Theyd be expanding their power to dornish land, dorne would gain even more nobility and a place in kings landing, and allign their forces with lannister money. it would work excellently for both parties. also, trystane would have a line of succession to the iron throne should something happen to joffrey, and/or tommen (guys come first before girls i believe(?))
