How destructive should the Others Invasion be?

I think GRRM is going for near total destruction from the hints we get. There already are legends of the Long Night that nearly destroyed everything. There's a Valyrian prophesy hinting "doom of man" would come from the West. Then there's the Dothraki saying that "ghost grass" would one day cover all of earth destroying everything. So we are looking at utter complete devastation for Westeros and Essos. On top of all that, there's war, famine, and disease plaguing people in Westeros and Essos. Westeros is really effed considering the War of the Five Kings have destroyed most of the farmland and crops. The Pale Mare from Essos may spread there too. It's possible that Westeros might be completely doomed and everyone would have to flee to Essos (where winter might be less severe because of the climate there?) I think this is an indication that WW would come as far south as the Riverlands. Dany sees the Lannister army clad in ice, so they were possibly wights she was burning? Her dreams are figurative and literal. I think this is a solid hint that WW will come far south. The people in the North would have to flee south not just because of WW, but because of food shortages as well.

There will also be more pandas in Scotland than Tory or Labour MEPs. The Tories are also behind both Brexit and Lib Dems in Theresa May's constituency while Labour are behind the Lib Dems in Corbyn's constituency. Is this the first time the Lib Dems have ever come first in London in an election?

[Poll] How would you rate episode 806?

As far as I know only D&D controlled the script, obviously nobody else is to blame except perhaps martin. I can respect the actors performances along with the rest of the crew while viewing the season itself as an insult towards the viewers.
  8. Don't you think that Lord Commander became more dangerous position than Prince of Pentos? Who guarantees (after Stannis's death) that soldiers surrounded by Others' and winter threat will not try the third mutiny?

    Anything foreshadowing KL getting burned?

A lot of people have speculated that this means something Mel or another shadowbinder brings to life to destroy something, not a real dragon. It's specifically shadow fire, so highly likely this is something related to shadow magic. not the fire magic of Dany's dragons. Right, he could foreshadow the event in TWOW with only a book left to go, like CoTK foreshadowing at least 2 major events that happened in ASOS, which was supposed to be the final book. But for a huge event like this, GRRM might have mentioned in ADWD at least in my opinion. That's why I wondered if I've missed something. I'm not sure if the Mad King wanting to do something should be taken as foreshadowing. At that moment he was a pyromaniac and didn't want Robert to gain anything. I always thought his obsession with fire may have stemmed from prophetic visions of things burning, possibly when winter comes, or things that used to burn, as during the Doom. In any case, I thought if GRRM had plans for Dany to do this, then it would have been in her HotU visions for sure. Or someone else, like Bran or the Ghost of High Heart may have commented on it.

How destructive should the Others Invasion be?

Didn't Dany have a dream of defeating an ice army at the Trident on Drogon? They melted away creating a torrent... That would already very much south... Of course the Trident holds a special meaning to her as Rhaegar died there and it meant the end of their reign over Westeros. It could just be a symbol, a dreaded place she needs to conquer to erase Rhaegar's defeat. For them to get there... That would not bode well for the people north of there... I must admit I'm curious about their journey south. Will they be able to breach the Wall or will they just cross the frozen sea? We don't really know what they want to achieve, do they have a specific target in mind (somewhere they want to be) or do they just want to kill everyone? I certainly hope we'll know more about them in TWoW.

    Heresy 222 vindication

I beg to differ. We know through Theon's POV that the ironborn may well have magical gifts. While in Winterfell, Theon dreamed of the Stark dead feasting in the Great Hall, and then Robb and Grey Wind enter, bleeding from a dozen wounds, to join the other dead. This was notably before the Red Wedding. If that's not a green dream I don't know what is. In addition, Theon thus far in the story is the only person who can hear/understand Bran through the weirwood. The ironborn have an origin story of a king that ruled for centuries, like the other Great Houses. There is some evidence that the Iron Islands were much more powerful and bigger before being flooded at some point- possibly following the Hammer of the Waters, which also drowned their god (greenseer). Oh and Asha has a prophetic dream about a stag with a burning heart in the forest, shortly before being attacked by Stannis. Not to mention Euron's own "flying dream", which sounds similar to what Bran and Dany experienced in the first book. IMO he is likely quite talented, but unfortunately these talents will not be used for good. I have posted this elsewhere before in more detail, but I'll just mention that the first clear bit of foreshadowing for this ending has already occurred, in the Euron chapter from TWOW. In it, Euron tells Aeron This always just sounded like a cool ominous prediction... until I looked up the meaning of charnel pit. A charnel house, or simply charnel, is a place where bones are stored. Not like a crypt, but a storage place, with thousands of bones either neatly stacked along the walls or sometimes piled in heaps or mounds. They are no longer arranged as skeletons - just bones. The skulls may be stacked separately, or piled up. Sound familiar? Out of all the characters we know, there are really only two that could be "born" from such a place. And Bran is more likely than Arya, because Arya is being trained to serve while Bran is being trained to be a greenseer, aka an Old God. Long story short, I predict that Bran will not so much be the king of Westeros, as a god-like figure that is worshipped by the remaining survivors. I obviously don't know the details of how GRRM gets us to this place, but we know from history that ALL MEN in Westeros have discarded their gods and taken up worship of the trees once before. This agreement was called the Pact, and there are those who link it to the Last Hero (who traveled to the far North and learned from the COTF... ) and his saving of mankind from the Others. If that's all it takes, Bran is already halfway there. The character that is truly scarred by a memory of bells is Jon Con. He reflects on the Battle of the Bells often, and at one point thinks how he failed Rhaegar and that Tywin would have burned the entire city to the ground and then looked for Robert's bones later on. This is by far his biggest regret, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were to be him, as Aegon's Hand, to burn KL (or another city) after the bells sounded the surrender. After all, we don't know how the show merged Aegon into the other characters. We've been assuming part of his arc was given to Jon, but why not Dany?

It used to be highest in the South West and Home Counties (back in the 2000's).
  19. I hate that Sansa was the only character to never have consensual sex on the show. ARYA had sexual agency before Sansa did. Something is truly messed up if this is D&D and George's ending for her. Also the idea that women who are raped can't or don't want to find love or partnership again is disgusting. That these characters can only have a rape or abuse storyline and become queen. Sorry, love of the people doesn't keep you warm at night. What message does that send to victims - you'll never get over it? It damages you? Just love your work and everything will be fine? I also saw some takes that said that Sansa is venturing out into dating again by the fact that she went up to talk to Sandor. Um, hello? This guy said he "should have fucked her bloody" and then what do they discuss? OH YEAH her rape.

They are. But neither lab or cin are remotely close enough to united on the issue to be worth counting. They're also the most likely (alongside Green) to be getting voters on things other than Brexit, hence I hadn't been counting either party earlier

    Anything foreshadowing KL getting burned?

From a smoking tower, a great stone beast took wing, breathing shadow fire. This could be drogan burning stuff. It's also foreshadowed by history, Aerys was only stopped by the kingslayer. What if there is no Queenslayer? The other thing you have to be careful about is using early examples to think that later events will be as transparent or have even been foreshadowed yet. Events that occur in book 3 need to be foreshadowed before that. Events that occur in book 7 can wait longer for the foreshadowing. And I seem to remember grrm saying some of the foreshadowing was too easy, so what we get now might be more difficult to interpret.

What was the point of the White Walkers sign?

I wondered as well. The show never explained it really as far as I know, and the White Walkers were dealt with before we could learn anything really about them.
