    SPOILERS: Rant and Rave

I feel like we're getting swerved here. Either Bran is lying or he doesn't know everything. It can't be so simple as the Night King dying next week.
  3. DMC

    SPOILERS: Rant and Rave

Pretty good list. I don't think Sandor dies, for reasons others have mentioned. He may not survive the fantasy fantasy (not a typo) version of this though. Honestly the one's I think are safe at the end of next week are Jon, Tyrion, Jaime, and Sansa. I could see Dany, Bran, or Arya dying in the show. In fact wouldn't be surprised if the show does go ahead with it - even though I think in the books Bran is incredibly likely to bookend the series. As for the mid-carders, they're all at high alert. I suppose there's no reason to kill Davos or Varys, but there's also no reason to keep them. ...And you're surprised that there are so many of such posters considering what forum this is?

[Poll] How would you rate episode 802?

Bit difficult as Jon is now a Targ and Bran is becoming a tree. That only leaves Sansa and Arya who had scenes last week.

The white walkers want Jon Snow alive???

They have to keep everything unclear when presenting a story visually, otherwise it would be too obvious. And it's not like the White Walkers can talk and drop subtle dialogue clues like Roose Bolton did about the Red Wedding and other examples. I would not be surprised if the NK wants to replace himself with Jon Snow - that the true meaning of the Nights Watch has been forgotten, or something, and Jon is been selected as the new silent, frozen protector of the magic in Westeros or something similar.

    SPOILERS: Rant and Rave

Btw, anyone notice the obsidian pieces planted on top of the wall crenelations? Looked like they used frozen snow to stick them there. Guys, whatever you do, don't place torches right by the crenelations.

    SPOILERS: Rant and Rave

    * I feel that Ghost was "added" after the whole series was shot and they saw there was some cgi budget leftovers. None of the characters exchanges not even a glance with 'im * Several things seem to be happening purely for fan service. Tormund constantly hitting on Brienne, Lady Mormont's every line is a collision with authority, Aria having a pissing contest with everyone she meets, Cercei whining about the Elephants, and now Aria with Gentry. Tell the story you want to tell, this is enough to serve the fans * I get the feeling that Kit has a deep dislike for Emilia and it shows whenever they interact. *Please tell me that the Night King has something more to drive him than merely to "destroy the world", for the sake of destroying the world...

Discussing Sansa XXXV: Queens of Ice and Fire

Me too. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I've always been routing for Theon to redeem himself, and he has, certainly in Sansa's eyes at least.

    SPOILERS: Rant and Rave

Just a friendly reminder, this thread is where people come to rant and rave without repercussion. Though the thread title doesn't indicate this so far this season, the tradition is that coming into this thread to argue is off limits. That aside: this season sounds like shit. I haven't had a chance to watch yet, but every recap I read makes me feel a hundred percent not into catching up.

    [Spoilers] E802 Discussion

Except for the entire episode that leaked earlier today. Kudos to them for keeping the episode title secret, though.

    [Spoilers] E802 Discussion

So, as suspected, all the drama about the North and Dany was just that, manufactured drama. Hardly a murmor of it this week, Sansa even apologized to Dany. Actually, the meeting they had this episode was exactly what should have went down in the first episode. Sansa expressing her concerns in a one on one face to face with Dany. No more Northern defectors, Lady Mormont focused on the task at hand. almost like it never happened, which it shouldn't have.

    Second Quarter 2019 Reading

OK. Finished it (it was one of those "just a few more pages before I go to bed" books, where you end up finishing it at an ungodly hour)...

    [Spoilers] E802 Discussion

I'd LOVE something like this, but honestly I don't think the show has anything clever up it's sleeve. It pains me to say this since I was originally a book purist, but then decided years ago to ride with the show knowing GRRM would never compete the series. And it was good times for a bit, peaking with Hardhome. But man, the show has fallen off and every time I see complex "theories" online they are always proven wrong (other than the zombie dragon taking down the wall). The writing hasn't set up any of the cool Night ('s) King theories that sprouted from the books. He just "wants an endless night" now, according to Bran. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm scared this will just be a straight battle against the dead, and then an annoying human power struggle (Jon/Danny/Sansa/Cersei) for the iron throne after that. No Nissa Nissa theories, no complexity to the NK, etc.

MLB Offseason 2018: Harper, Your Herald Boras Sings

That was a bomb by Red Thunder. What the fuck is up with Chad Green though? Vladdy Jr. coming soon. I can’t wait for him to be a thorn in our side for the next decade.

Discussing Sansa XXXV: Queens of Ice and Fire

Did you miss the episode tonight? Sansa's coldness was explained in that scene with Sansa and Dany and I just explained to you what the scene meant! And others have already explained that it's not about Sansa or Jon wanting to remain independent, it's about the Northerners not willing to bend the knee again. You can't lead if your subjects can't trust you.

[Poll] How would you rate episode 802?

An hour of soppy forgiveness. It was very nice and almost made me like some of the characters again - but it's just way too simple and cliche. This story started with such complicated promise. When the human heart is in conflict with itself it seldom resolves so positively. I hope there are some real kick to the guts surprises coming, because as well made as this season is, the narrative is ultimately boring. Also, getting massive LotRs film vibes this season. Anyone else feel Pod singing was exactly like this: Still gave it 8 out of 10.

    Order of deaths to come.

And yet they have absolutely no idea how many takes it will take to get the desired result, if the weather will co-operate, if the special effects will work out right, etc etc. So, no. I'm not saying they don't have a schedule, but they are not paid based on shooting hours. Are you trying to say Jamie will die this next episode? Care to make a wager?

    SPOILERS: Rant and Rave

I wrote my theory in another thread but I'll do it here as well: I suspect the 3-Eyed Ravens are the Old Gods the North and the First Men (and the Children of the Forest) worship. Bran is the last Old God, and if he dies, the magic that cursed the Night King will be extinguished and he will be human again.

[Poll] How would you rate episode 802?

This is the problem. After 2 whole seasons waiting for Ghost, they put him in a so insignificant way that people didn't notice he was there. It felt like he was painted over, as if he was completely added later, when someone in post production said "Oh, wait, we are at episode 2 of 6, and the script didn't have a scene with Ghost yet; fans are gonna be very upset"... so somebody decided to add Ghost in a corner, on a scene that when was filmed he wasn't supposed to be. It was so underwhelming and dissapointing that I'll watch the remaining episodes only because I want to get some closure to this story and I don't think GRRM will ever give us one. Even when I continue lowering my expectations, they manage to disappoint me every time. What I liked: Brienne being knighted by Jaime, Podric singing the Jenny song, Jaime apologizing to Bran. Arya with Gendry felt odd, but it's believable that she didn't want to die a virgin, and it was a surprise, I didn't expect that at all. Overall, a 5 for me.
  21. Rose of Red Lake

Discussing Sansa XXXV: Queens of Ice and Fire

Did you miss her shooting daggers at Dany all last episode? And this was just women being fake nice now. Jon: "Do you not have any faith in me at all?" Jon would betray that faith if he fell in love with someone who wants to SUBJUGATE the North and his people! Sansa wants independence, which means autonomy to rule only with people she trusts (Jon).

    Order of deaths to come.

The producers have to know how many days the lead actors are going to be on set for. That is why they have departments planning out all the shoots and schedules. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau made three films due to come out this year. Which pretty much says Jamie is a gonner.

    Order of deaths to come.

For the next episode, I'm most worried about Bran, Ghost, and Lyanna Mormont. :-( Surviving the next episode: Sansa, Arya, Jon, Daenerys, Tyrion.

    SPOILERS: Rant and Rave

I don't care how much someone give a pass to this show. THIS episode was a freaking mess when it comes to script and dialogue. And that whole "speech" Jon was making with his voice over, I swear I've heard something similar in a movie, with the same voice over scenes. It's a really cringey cliche before every major event in movies. This entire episode felt like a third tier medieval movie.
