  2. If the North seceded that easily then it makes sense for Dorne to secede. Since it. like the North, is the most culturally different from the rest of Westeros.

    Aussie Thread: Democracy Sausage

There is still potential for a lot of people to be harmed by this continuance of the worst of the policies from their last term (I can't hammer how horrifically harmful robodebt is enough) but on the selfish front I know I'll be OK if this is what happens. What scares me is if Morrison's "this was a miracle" wasn't a linguistic turn but literal - he's a Pentecostal with pretty out there religious views and if he (and his church) decide that this win was god ordained to fight back against the "sin" of the last years like same sex marriage things could get bad for me. I think his majority is tiny enough and the senate too opposed for that to actually happen after the postal survey, but I don't like to ignore how much "divine right" can twist a persons thinking. Hopefully he just wanted the crowd to respond to his "I believe in miracles" with "where're you from you sexy thing"
  4. You really need to get with the program. Sansa was named Queen in the North in her own name. I can't wait to see more of it. She didn't lose her family. They all grew up and naturally their roads have taken them on different paths. Why independent North? Well, that horse has been beaten to death and we have all spoken about that for far too long. North didn't lose any allies. It was a peaceful demarcation of two Kingdoms. North never cared about Kings on Iron Throne. Again, get with the program. GreatJon Umber and many other respected Catelyn and she was supposed to lead them until Robb summoned the armies. So, North is not as misogynistic as you may think.
  5. I felt more more Drogon than I did any of the human characters. I don't think that's the way it was supposed to work....

    [Spoilers] Episode 806 Discussion

My thought was that he was escorting the wildlings back home I thought Drogon took her to Dragonstone, where she was born. There is no new lord there so she can Rest In Peace. I laughed too. Their house will be gone in one generation
  7. because this is a Stark show. they wanted all the best ending for the Starks.

    [Spoilers] Episode 806 Discussion

Not to be nitpicky, but didn't there seem to be entirely too many Unsullied still alive in KL after Winterfell?

    [Spoilers] Episode 806 Discussion

Bran was in a hurry to get her to the Isle of Faces. Do you really think Drogon wouldn't have killed his mother's killer? Nissa Nissa

[Spoilers] Rant & Rave without Repercussion, Final edition

Right, this didn't make any sense. In any situation like that Dorne would be the first to call for Independence if it was given to the North so easily. It's literally in their House words. But I guess I keep forgetting that the country at the south of Westeros in the show isn't really Dorne.
  11. Drogon decided Dany being murdered was not a reason for him to go ballistic, because... Unsullie d army wait for a decision for what to do with the person who murdered their beloved queen, because... Tyrion also gets a pass. Sam is a grand maester since when. also the huge army of Dothraki and unsullie d who seem to be breeding uncontrollably since being wiped out by the undead. Just left bored by it all.
  12. Larger than Average Finger

    Arya is Azor Ahai

The word valonquar was purposefully left out of the show, its not part of that prophesy.

    [Spoilers] Episode 806 Discussion

So we will have another war coming once 3ER (Bran) is too old or dies, right? Unless he manages to kill off everyone before then. How many millions live in Westros? He did kill over a million this Season...if he kills 1 million every year will that be enough before he dies?
  14. Yes, Tyrion is a cadaver dog now. He went straight for the right spot, moved two bricks, and voila!

[Spoilers] Rant & Rave without Repercussion, Final edition

Why would Daenerys leave Tyrion alive long enough for Jon to talk to him, if it was at all as realistic as the first 1-4 seasons she would've killed him the moment he threw away his hand of the Queen pin. Why would the unsullied not kill Jon, who told them Jon killed her , Drogon flew away with her in his talons. Why wouldn't Jon run or even walk straight away to his own men and secure his position. If Jon cared enough about his sisters and the realm to stab Daenerys then his first thoughts should've been to ensure he survives to protect them all. He must have just walked up to one of the unsullied guards and been like...erm did you hear that sound, it was just me stabbing our Queen. Wtf was with Drogon destroying the one symbol of power in Westeros randomly, I'm hoping D&D were tryin to suggest that it was Daenerys last wish she communicated to Drogon through their bond, otherwise it was incredibly corny and random.
  16. So if all it takes is a declaration, why doesn't Dorne just secede from the 7, I mean, 6 Kingdoms? I need some time to digest the rest of this...this season has been disappointing.

    Watch, Watched, Watching: Getting Sneaky

Watched The Girl in the Spiders Web and its entertaining but I still loved the original Swede trilogy best, noone has touched Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth yet.
  18. Aye, I suppose I should clarify. When I say "I don't care about policy," I don't actually mean I don't care about policy. Of course I care about policy, and all the differences a Democratic president could make. What I'm saying is I don't care about the candidates' policy, only they're electability. And everybody defines that last one in their own way, so..I dunno if there's much to talk about until next February. Watch the ebb and flows, I suppose.

Books vs Show: How much difference?

    Hopefully it'll be nothing alike.
  20. We should eagerly await for the Outside the Episode to get some “answers”. What a joke...
  21. Yeah, they gave her the tiara she wanted in the beginning. Queen Barbie. That's all she is to them. And it turns out breaking a weirwood promise is just something to make a dress out of.

Discussing Sansa - The Last One: Queen In The North!!!

While this may be true, after gaining back the north and also being their Queen I cant see any man refusing her... can you imagine the man that refuses her in front of all those thankful men/woman/children.. and I would imagine being Queen she could command it if push came to shove. The North know the importance of there always being a Stark in Winterfell... and also now with the Allegiance with beyond the wall and the other 6 kingdoms.. they really need to keep a Stark to keep the peace.

[Spoilers] Rant & Rave without Repercussion, Final edition

I almost already forgot the horror of their A Song of Ice and Fire. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Wow, no wonder I'm weirded out. The whole thing was a weird conglomeration of the leaks, with some stupid shit in between, and almost skits of old bits. It is WEIRD.
  24. We've had plenty of elective monarchies in history, they usually end up with someone consolidating power and making it defacto hereditary. It might be more representative but that's not inherently better, if anything the nobles will probably end up fighting more when they have a say in who gets to be king directly. I get what they're doing with the idea being that it's a step in the right direction but it's still dumb, they could have left a positive message of changing politics out all together and I don't think it would hurt the narrative, a story set in a fedual setting doesn't need to change that as some sort of positive message, if anything the whole happy bantering small council was just cringy.
  25. D&D threw away all the TPTWP/Azor Ahai stuff. There's no way to bring it together for the show. I hope GRRM will in the books, but the show definitely abandoned it.
  26. Gaius Gracchus

[Spoilers] Rant & Rave without Repercussion, Final edition

If Cersei and Jaime had just moved 5 feet to the right, they would've lived also hahaha
