    Harrenhal's tourney, then what?

It has been suggested that the Tourney of Harrenhal was in fact a meeting to gather political support around Prince Rhaegar Targaryen so he could be able to depose his father. Events like the Mad King attending the tourney and Rhaegar himself ignoring his wife to crown Lyanna Stark as Queen of Love and Beauty probably prevented to have the intended effect. But what was actually the plan? Let's say that Howland Reed doesn't leave the Isle of Faces and thus Lyanna doesn't intervene, etc. What was actually the plan afterwards? Or were just the lords who wanted to force Rhaegar into action?

Football: dropping clangers and scoring bangers

He's defending his medical staff by claiming that Dan James was pretending to be knocked unconscious in a collision during the Wales game yesterday. He looked like he was completely out, but of course he was eager to get back on the pitch and they let him. What kind of horrible dickhead pretends to be unconscious to try to get someone carded though? Either Dan James is a massive cheating cunt, or Giggs is covering for his medical staff by making Dan James look like a massive cheating cunt.
  4. The Wolves

What if elia and children survive

They were not in no exile. Robert killed Rhaegar and than went to King’s Landing where the King and the crown prince were. Robert and those dumb fucks proclaimed him King when he killed Rhaegar and because he killed him. Using the Targaryen blood claim was just to make the taking of the thrown seem less jarring. Im like a trillion percent positive that no real discussion went into why Robert should have taken the thrown. He was declared because a bunch of dumbasses was impressed that he killed the better man.
  5. Has anyone watched Shadiversity's 3D model rendering of the actual Winterfell according to the descriptions in the books? It makes all the WF battles in the show even more of a joke. Ramsey would never leave that WF and battle outside. There is no wooden door for giant to punch through. Even the army of the dead probably couldn't take it, not even with a dragon.

Why doesn’t Dorne have a navy?

So, they are too poor to afford it?

What if elia and children survive

Actually, he got the throne because he was the closest relative to Targaryens, while Targs themselves were dead or in the exile.

What if elia and children survive

This argument that Aegon or Viserys would have grown up to take revenge is weak. It’s an excuse used to justify murder of children and the theft of their throne. There is nothing to suggest that Aegon(who would be king)would grow up to start some shit about two men he didn’t know. Some monarchs have been disposed of and their heirs or descendants have been given the throne in real life and I’m sure with the thousands and thousands of years of history in Westeros that it’s happened a few times. Plus Robert is not intelligent enough to think that far into the future. There is nothing about Robert being crowded logical. This man was a drunk, a whore, an idiot and someone who clearly had no desire or ability to rule. I’m also really sure that he never did rule Storm’s End, just let his Maesters do it. The only reason Robert got the throne is because a bunch of dumbasses like himself was impressed that he killed the Prince. Rhaegar has his share of the blame but everyone who fought in that war did. And I don’t care about any of those grown men being victims. Elia, Aegon, Rhaenys, Rhaella, Viserys, Baby Danaerys, and Westeros’ small folk were the real victims. Not a bunch of grown men who had choices and too much power and didn’t care about the realm at all.

    Thought For Today

We leave impressions on each other’s mind not on limbs. As far as impressions are concerned, our bodies are insentient, I mean, if our bodies do not remember each other, as it is the mind which perpetuates memories they being bereft of memory, hence are as good as inert!

That looks fucking terrible. I know if you were to adapt the original books you'd have to excise a fair portion of racist stuff that was in them but if you think they're beyond redemption why even use the name?
  13. Now I feel really stupid, suggesting mobility exercises to a gymnast I'm pretty sure 1k in under 3 minutes was well out of my reach even when I was in my best long distance running shape. At that period I remember one training where we were doing 3 sets of 3kms and I finished all three right on 12 minute mark but I don't remember ever running faster than that.

  15. One of the bigger (not the biggest) talking points during the referendum was that we had to leave the EU to avoid the TTIP with the US. Of course, the EU refused the TTIP anyway, but that doesn't matter; and now the same leavers, who wanted so much to avoid the TTIP want a deal that would be so much worse (for Britain) than the TTIP - and can't see the problem with it. ETA: I will allow, that some may indeed think that, when it comes to negotiating with a body of 327M; a body of 66M holds more than power than a body of 508M. Or possibly even that the Trump administration is both most trustworthy and less ruthless in negotiations than the Obama administration.

Heresy 227 and the Great Turtle

1, Actually, this is possible, though certainly not in the way depicted by the Mummers. Remember that book Bran is heavily based on Bran the Blessed/Bendigeidfran. 2. I think this may turn out to be as irrelevant as it so far has been in the book and that whoever his father Jon is a son of Winterfell not of Valyria. 3. Agreed and they too are sons of Winterfell - and Craster To this, I'll add a fourth: 4. The Dragons are as much of a threat as the Others
  19. Lord of Ramonet

    Winged Snake over Winterfell

Also remember that prince Jacaerys took Vermax to winterfell and the shedragon could have lay a clutch of eggs in there, and after the war, the Targs told Lord Cregan Stark that instead of giving him a Targaryen bride he will have something of more value, and he return verry happy to winterfell, a dragon egg perhaps? This egg could have remained inside the castle thermal system until after the battle when there was this huge fire and king's blood, because I'm pretty sure that Theon must have spilled at list a lil bit of blood. The other thing, as you say, is that Cannibal or Sheepstealer must have been lingering around or even been hibernating in the depths of the castle. I'm more certain of the second one because brann/summer said that it was huge, so a hatchling is kind of unlikely. The final theory, and most boring is that it's just that bloody red comet.

    Jaime as the Golden Lion

I think the reason we know little of Jaime before he was captured was because as a character, there was little to know. He was raised in the shadow of Tywin, led around by Cersei, and overshadowed intellectually by Tyrion. When Jaime lost his hand, he lost everything he was. Which actually wasn't much, character-wise unless you consider being good at sword fights as being sufficient for being a strongly-written character. We're told clearly of the one time that Jaime wasn't just a hand and that was when he chose - on his own - to end Aerys. He was derided for it and went back to being just a hand until losing his hand forced him to begin to become something more. I think that time in Riverrun was probably the first time in Jaime's life where he was alone with his own thoughts for any real period of time and the symbolism of Jaime rising from the depths of Riverrun is that of a rebirth, a breaking from his family that only allowed him to be a hand. ASOS Jaime IV Craven, Jaime thought, as Brienne fought to stifle her moans. Can it be? They took my sword hand. Was that all I was, a sword hand? Gods be good, is it true? Jaime says he keeps refusing Casterly Rock and is getting frustrated by Tywin refusing to listen. The Lannisters nearly lost Casterly Rock when Tytos was a Lord who didn't want to rule. Tywin needs Jaime to accept the responsibility on his own. Ordering him to take it won't be sufficient after Tywin dies of old age and can't cover for Jaime anymore. ASOS Jaime VII "—someone needs to close them again." Jaime stood. "I am tired of having highborn women kicking pails of shit at me, Father. No one ever asked me if I wanted to be Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, but it seems I am. I have a duty—" "You do." Lord Tywin rose as well. "A duty to House Lannister. You are the heir to Casterly Rock. That is where you should be. Tommen should accompany you, as your ward and squire. The Rock is where he'll learn to be a Lannister, and I want him away from his mother. I mean to find a new husband for Cersei. Oberyn Martell perhaps, once I convince Lord Tyrell that the match does not threaten Highgarden. And it is past time you were wed. The Tyrells are now insisting that Margaery be wed to Tommen, but if I were to offer you instead—" "NO!" Jaime had heard all that he could stand. No, more than he could stand. He was sick of it, sick of lords and lies, sick of his father, his sister, sick of the whole bloody business. "No. No. No. No. No. How many times must I say no before you'll hear it? Oberyn Martell? The man's infamous, and not just for poisoning his sword. He has more bastards than Robert, and beds with boys as well. And if you think for one misbegotten moment that I would wed Joffrey's widow . . ." "Lord Tyrell swears the girl's still maiden." "She can die a maiden as far as I'm concerned. I don't want her, and I don't want your Rock!"

DCEU: Killer Clowns from Gotham City

Yeah that is an odd critique of the movie. It’s also not in any way accurate as it blindly forgets all the white people who piss Arthur off, of which there are more.

    Rugby: Building up to Japan

I agree with these, with the caveat that I think the mercurial France are capable of pulling off an upset over Wales if the conditions are right. There's no danger of South Africa taking Japan lightly, so I think they'll probably end the hosts' dreams. England and the ABs are easy picks.

    Jaime as the Golden Lion

let's see Let his brothers's wife be gang raped and lied about it, swear a oath to the KG with no intention whatsoever to keep it just to run away from a match his father made, pushed a 8 years old boy from a tower, tried to kill a 9 years old girl just because. of course his is not evil... he does not even need redemption.

NFL 2019: After A Quarter, Are They Who We Thought They Were?

Vikings finally played with the brake off and made it look easy. Yes, the Eagles secondary has some problems. But if you have Diggs and Thielen, throw them the ******* ball. Dallas conceding 24 points to that Jets offense was the worst thing about that game until all of the BS penalty calls in the final drive. Perhaps the Cowboys should be grateful if the referees get the attention this time. Seahawks pulled out another chaotic win after spotting the Browns a big lead. It’s entertaining stuff but somehow they’re 5-1 despite being on the edge of disaster in almost every game. Good news: Wilson is throwing great, Lockett has replaced the irreplaceable Baldwin, and this thrown-together rebuilt defense is doing a decent job and could improve as they get more games together. Bad news for Bears: not only is the starting QB one of the weakest in the league, we now see that most teams have back-ups more capable than our starter.
