Even if they land at White Harbour? A precedent was set in an earlier season too. Didn't Brienne and Pod have to take the long way around?

    Going to Weddings

I get that, and I'd probably just do the same, but I've found through my experiences that it's really easy to find all kinds of vices in large urban areas. Typically all you need to do is find a trendy bar targeting people in their twenties and thirties. Or as you said, just bumping into someone having a smoke.

    Book & Show

It's amazing how many people fail to realise that. If the show had closely followed AFFC and ADWD then we'd never have gotten an ending, because HBO would have cancelled the show due to viewing numbers falling off a cliff. The (poor) pacing of the books is what has gotten GRRM into trouble writing them, had the show remained true to the books it would have sounded its own death knell and no one would ever get a conclusion to the story. The biggest general criticisms of the show were it was often too slow and that Dany kept going nowhere fast. Euron is an awful awful awful character in the books. In the show he is meh. In the books he is a cardboard cut out pirate villain with his blue lips, eye patch and a crew full of mutes.....arrrrggghhhh shiver me timbers! The Ironborn culture that GRRM presented us with would NEVER follow someone like that. Oh and for good measure, just in case the reader hasn't cottoned on to Euron being evil, he is also a child molesting pedophile. Euron for me is a symptom of everything that went wrong in AFFC/ADWD. GRRM's writing style changed and ADWD (and the chapters we've seen from TWOW) had very little of the nuance and subtlety of the books that went before it.

Who can be gendry's mother? a targaryen?

I doubt Cersei would: A. Lose track of her own son. You know how she feels about her children. No matter how sickly (Sweetrobin). B. Order him killed. Also, Mel does/did not need Targ blood for spells, just King's Blood. Robert & Stannis' worked just fine. As did Shireen's (show).

Exercise and Fitness: bro science debunked

I put a two and half hour session in yesterday. Progress for the wedding is going swimmingly. I've still got four months to work on some better ab definition. Sadly that means I have to put myself on a two beer a day pitch count, despite my previous advise that one can never drink too much beer (assuming it's quality beer).

    Favorite Anime and Cartoon openings?

You've rattled off a lot of great ones (especially Batman: The Animated Series, Cowboy Bebop, and X-men), but... no The Mysterious Cities of Gold? Kind of have to give a nod to Ulysses 31 too, which Linda introduced me to: Oh, and going to anime, I just find the opening song for the original Berserk to be super catchy, and both endearingly fearless and endearingly incongruous as a choice for such a violent, medieval fantasy:

This all sounds like too much effort. I'm sure I could find someone but it's not as easy as you're making it sound. I'm fine just going a week without getting high.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

I don't know about any of that. Maybe they were joking? I know the Golden Company will have to pass through the Moat to get north, much like the Vale would have had to, yet nothing is ever mentioned about it. As far as we know, the Boltons still have it.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

Yes, I know that. That's why I am confused. People keep laughing about how Edd / Tormund got to Winterfell before the Undead and laughing about how they casually bypassed Moat Cailin to do it. Moat Cailin wouldn't be on the path for either Edd/Tormund or the Undead to get to Winterfell.

NFL Offseason 2019: Gettleman Browns all over the Giants

Hoping for the Q. Bosa’s pretty foolproof, but his ceiling’s a lot lower than Williams imo and has some athletic limitations that means he’ll have to max out a lot on technique against better tackles. He’s kind of a lock for consistent pass rush numbers but I think better tackles can stone him.

    Favorite Anime and Cartoon openings?

Wholeheartedly agree with Batman TAS being present here. Though I think also the Superman TAS theme should be added here... both extremely iconic openings. Also yes, the Ghostbusters opening, even though it had the advantage of leaning on the movies' soundtrack. Other than that... I can show off some of my childhood memories. One of those that blew me away right away is the Opening of "Starship Troopers Chronicles", because yes, Starship Troopers of all things got an animated series that stuck closer to the book and combined Beethoven with Kennedy for its opening: Next to that, the German openings for Digimon always struck me as really amazing renditions of the Japanese ones. When I heard what they did to the English Dub for the first time... I was honestly horrified. Digimon Tamers as link because it somehow doesn't like being embedded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTyzsRixR4U Other than that, the opening of Slayers was also one that kept getting stuck in my head as a kid. When it comes to more modern openings, I really love Fate/Zero's. Kalafina is always the best! Speaking of Kalafina... I actually watched Aldnoah.Zero solely because of the opening (and the setting being penned by Urobuchi). It's a shitty show, but damn the opening is good: Speaking of Urobuchi... There is the opening of the Madoka Magica movies that I really like. Especially the way we see Madoka grow up with her family and friends and then that grim cut to the other protagonists being all alone. Really makes you feel how good Madoka's life so far had been and what's at stake for her... Too bad pretty much all versions were being taken down from Youtube, so there is only a cover left: Of course, when it comes to horribly iconic openings, I am not allowed to forget Higurashi as well. I have seen its imagery copied several times so far: Speaking of Ryukishi... Can't exactly miss out on the opening of Umineko... with all its flaws, the opening song is still pretty great: That's just a few favourites on the top of my mind. I might add more later on.^^

    Electric Cars - Advise?

I've had a leaf for something like 4 years now. I've put on 60k miles on it, easily. It's lost two bars of battery. That sucks, but it doesn't kill things. What is tough is that it eats battery like an iPhone using GPS when it's got the heater running. Its range probably cuts in half. But otherwise? It's incredibly fun to drive, handles great, even in snow, has great visibility and good UX.

Wouldn't be as the crow flies though. And the show emphasized Edd as having horses. On horseback, pushing them hard, you could do quite a distance.

What should we expect from the Vale?

Sansa is going to have to be one of the most prolific POVs in The Winds of Winter. There's a lot going on in the Vale right now and a lot needs to happen before Sansa ends up in Winterfell. And considering that I think Sansa's return to Winterfell will happen in The Winds of Winter instead of A Dream of Spring, that means GRRM has a lot of work to do. I'm beginning to feel a little bad for him. He should've left the one Sansa chapter he made for A Dance with Dragons alone; maybe even included another one. It wouldn't have killed him or the binding. I like this; especially the part about Sansa being a mediator between the Valemen and the clansmen. Don't the clansmen worship the old gods? It doesn't make sense to me how Sansa is able to charm and curtsey herself into becoming an influential voice for such a vulgar warrior people. But they are nowhere near as misogynistic as mainstream Andal-influenced Westerosi culture...if they are particularly religious, then Sansa does get a bit of a leg-up. Interesting to see this happen. I forgot all about Sansa meeting Chella and Timett in Clash. Littlefinger has never had control of the situation in the Riverlands. When was the last time he was in the Riverlands? The tourney of Harrenhal? Brandon and Catelyn's engagement party? No matter the case, Littlefinger certainly has never set foot in Harrenhal because he -- being the Lord of Harrenhal -- fears the curse. I'm of the school of thought that believes Petyr Baelish wrote the Pink Letter in an attempt to turn the Night's Watch against both Stannis and the Northmen. The ensuing chaos will make his power grab in the North via Sansa easy. So while agree with you on account of Petyr possibly provoking war in the Riverlands too, I don't think he has to. Between the impending famine, the first signs of civil war within House Frey and the activities of the Brotherhood, the Riverlands are falling apart all by themselves. I definitely disagree on the Vale not going North. Why don't you believe they will go north.

US Politics: It’s Not A Crime If Your Feelings Got Hurt

Bad experiences shape us and teach us about the mistakes we've made in the past. The mistake isn't the thing to focus on. Look more at the individual growth and how the candidate, or person in general, expresses said growth. AKA primary voters. If I was a gambling man I'd bet that Biden has already plateaued.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

I think the India leak is probably the most probable leak out there for episode 3. If it isn't real, they at least came to some logical conclusions based on the information we have, and they didn't go into ridiculous unlikely details like others. The leak itself came out before episode 2 and mentions that NK missing from the initial attack. Some of the so-called leaks that followed it basically rip the leak off, change details like Drogon being downed instead of Rhaegal, removing a death, adding a death. Then they add popular reddit theories like the dead in the crypts being animated, or Beric resurrecting someone. They even copy the exclamation that "Tormund survives/lives!" that the original did.
