Magnar wants
Many posters have said this in so many ways, but I think it’s cool how the continent of Westeros is itself a song of ice and fire. The Neck divides Westeros into two roughly equal chunks: the north and the south. The north is associated with ice: cold winters, got invaded by ice demons, etc. The south is associated with fire: hot summers, the first men brought fire via the Arm of Dorne, got invaded by dragonlords, etc. The Neck (and Iron Islands) is associated with the product of mingling ice and fire, water.
