  1. Ironically, Tysha wasn't actually a whore, so the phrase is meaningless.

It would seem very unlikely to me that Tyrion would find Tysha, and even more so if she would want to be within a 100 leagues of him or any Lannister if she survived what was done to her. I don't think Martin is going there. Tysha's fate may remain unresolved.

Martin said we would find out where whores go so I think Tysha's fate will be resolved even if they do never meet again, based on his answer here. It's been a while since I saw the interview but I think it's toward the end.

  2. I think the Others somehow are related to the Stark's , possibly the Stark have Other blood.

I've seen this a few times but I'm not sure how or why people are making this correlation. I know that the old Starks have been called more fierce and grey than Ned but that is a completely different world than the Others trying to kill out mankind. Perhaps there's something to the Night King's wife but that would be the only way I could see there being some Other blood in the Starks. I think the Starks are the ones that are meant to keep the Others in check, not be a part of them. That would put them in the same league as Craster and his sons and I really don't see the Starks being in that league.

  3. That reminds me, there was some question about the "evil-ness" of the Others and that they might be misunderstood. However, they are clearly positioned as bad guys here - the ultimate antagonists - and I'm wondering if there will be some ambiguity in the books.

  4. Well, the Others are a different race of being

, ahgh I mean Lord Commander Snow has the destinct attention of the Night's King as if the Night's King knows who he is.

Yes, I really got the feeling they were a different race. And yes, the Night's King was staring Jon down. They've really set up the rivals. I hope there's more of a reason why he singled Jon out other than seeing him use the Valaryan Steel.

So awesome was the ending that it completely overshadowed a really nice banter between Dany and Tyrion.

I hope not. That chat was really fun. I hope there'll be plenty more like it.

I feel every time I watch a Daenerys and Tyrion scene as if I am doing something illegal and forbidden.

:lmao: I love every second of it.

  5. Great episode.

I really liked Dany and Tyrion. He's going to really help her.

I really liked Cersei being all "I'm not groveling. I'm the queen." And then slurping the water off the floor.

I really liked finally seeing Arya do something. Glad they're keeping the merchant murder.

I really liked that Sansa knows her brothers are alive.

And I loved Jon being all LC "I run things here"

Things I wasn't so crazy about.

Why would Jorah go back to the pits?

The Undead. I really hate all things zombie. I don't care who resurrects you. Zombies suck!

But the fight scenes were great, even if it is zombies.

It really clear that Olly thinks he has to do what he has to do after that chat with Sam.

As for next week's trailer, the look Alister gives Jon.... oy.

  6. It is not easy to climb up the Broken Tower in the case of emergency. It is not easy to light a candle either. And wouldn't the winter howling wind put it out within nanoseconds anyway? This is so stupid, my brain hurts. Yes, in case of emergency, do not go down fire escape. Play hopscotch in the corridor, then leap through some ring ropes, make a pirouette, sing the top song from the charts, play some video games and ... ah, wait a minute. I have been dead for a while.... Ah, well...

There seems to be more than one way to reach the tower. It was part of the keep after all and Cat was there investigating. She hardly climbed.

I assumed Sam would remain at the Wall but it looks like he might sail for Oldtown after all. Still, I'm not sure if we'll actually see it. It would require quite a bit in terms of world building on the show and the sets and maesters would not be easily shown.

A lot of complaining about Dany proposing. I have no problem with it. In the books, she's forced to do something she absolutely does not want to do, yet no one said anything about uncomfortable or rape. On the show, she tells Hizdar what will happen or he can remain where he it is. Same thing but all of a sudden it's a forced marriage. I suppose it's because it's different.....

I am really wondering how things will turn out with Stannis and his women while they are battling in the North. That really seems like a strange move and I'm not sure what's meant to happen other than trying to sacrifice Shireen for a victory.

Still, I enjoyed the episode and look forward to me re-watch.

  7. Dany's being worked over by Missandei. No idea why unless Missandei is the Harpy on the show, but tonight Dany wondered how things had turned so bad, and Missandei said it was because Dany didn't listen to her advisors and that's why Dany's successful? And Dany bought that? Newsflash: Dany's a disaster, and Missandei is encouraging it. This is not book_Missandei. And that's why D&D showed too much Missandei and Grey Worm: not the romance, but Missandei's character. (Maybe she's not the Harpy, but something's going on with her.)

I've long predicted that Missandei will betray Dany for love. I think the show will try to show that with her relationship with Grey Worm. And the books might show it with one of her brothers.

  8. I like that a warm scene between father and son in the Bolton household involves Daddy Bolton telling Ramsay that he raped his mother.

I loved the look on Ramsey's face when he realized how he'd been conceived. It's rare to get that expression with him.

Help please - what did Stannis say when Jon was pleading his wilding case in front of the other men. Davos heard and asked him what he said and Stannis said 'nothing' or 'never mind'. WHAT did he mutter???

He said "fewer". He was being a grammar nazi again. (see battle of blackwater)

  9. Did anybody else catch the pan up to reveal Jon Snow entering the room immediately after Aemon finishes telling Sam about how there are no Targaryens left to help Dany? R+L bitches, R+L.

Damn. I missed that. I'll watch closely on my next viewing. Does anyone else watch each episode more than once. :blushing:

Honestly....I just don't see a change in Sansa yet other than the color of her hair. She's still the helpless victim unless she is doing a SUPERB job of faking it!

I disagree. People are describing the dinner with her new in-laws as painful and yet if we think of how she behaved when she was having dinner with Cersei in Season 2, we can really see a world of difference in how she carries herself. She was not behaving like a victim at this dinner.

  10. I actually feel worried for Fat Walda.

I am too. She's one of the Freys they should leave alone.

I wonder if Ramsay bought Roose's "daddy loves you" story? I'm guessing the answer is, "Sorry Pops but I ain't buying it"

I get the feeling he did. It was just the right kind of lie: some truth to make it believable. But even if he did, he still recognizes that the new baby will be a threat especially when daddy says "you embarrased yourself at dinner". I think Roose really underestimates the boy, in the books and on the show.

  11. She looks appalled/miserable/angry like 95% of the time in their presence.

Fixed that for you. Tbh, I'm worried she isn't using her courtesies enough. I'd hate for her to have to climb that old tower. She's got to play the game a lot more than she has been.

  12. Who will save Jon if not Mel?

Himself, maybe? Or the old gods?

It's not as if we know whether or not Melisandre saves him in the books, though.

This! I suspect it will be the Old Gods since Jon is of the North.

I wonder if the Selyse replaces the soldiers who want to make a sacrifice to R'hollor for food. She tries to burn Shireen and gets pushed to the ground by Stannis. Still trying to make sense of that scene.

Next week it looks like Arya will get a face. And the Queen of Thorns is back. Excited!!!

  13. Interesting changes for Dany. It looks like just like in Season 1, they are trying to set things up to give her more agency later. So she was lost before and had no idea of what to do and now she makes decisions like "I will marry for peace". Well, it makes things go faster.
