  1. Any ideas on what happens with LF? I mean, there's no Marillion...

Did anyone else notice the way Bronn describes he could potentially take Gregor is almost exactly how it ends up playing out for Oberyn? "Dance around until he's so tired from hacking at me he drops his sword. Get him off his feet somehow. But one misstep and I'm dead."

he says as much in the books too. :)

  2. It's not like I'm saying the show makes Jon out to be totally lackluster. Yes ,he has made friends and defended them from Thorne's taunts, was made Mormont's steward and defended him against the weights, and infiltrated the wildlings. These are acknowledgments. What I'm questioning is now that HBO has Thorne and Slynt at Castle Black, how is it that Jon will be in charge during the Wildling attack? So far, unlike the books, Jon's sisters don't think back and adopt his traits that helped him cope at Winterfell. Arya remembers Jon's kindness, Sansa thinks of how Jon was when she plays Alayne. We are now at the point in the books where Jon separates himself with his knowledge, courage and general ability from others at the Wall. It's sad to see that the script writers have written in Thorne and Slynt's arrival there before the battle that distinguishes Jon.

    ah, i see...

I agree about alliser and Thorne. I'm pretty sure they'll make Jon out to be the hero somehow and will be made LC some time after that.

They could've handled the Arya/Jon relationship better, oh well. I don't think anyone has forgotten it. Sansa hardly every thinks about him and maybe when she becomes Alayne they'll connect the two. They better Jon plays a big part to the Alayne identity

  3. :agree: If something like this isn't revealed in the upcoming invasion episode, you have to wonder why HBO writers are continually eroding Jon's strengths, making him stumble along their story-line. Book Jon's arc, from the beginning Arya chapter in AGoT where she looks at his face after the confrontation in the courtyard between Joff and Robb, Jon reveals the inner strength that is shared between all the living Stark kids. So far, the show doesn't project this, his ties with Ghost and only in this episode do they touch on his ability to lead men.

I kind of agree, but In the books he have the benefit of his inner monolgues.

Strength? In the Show were shown from the first episode that he very much cares for his family which is a strong part of him. he defends his fellow recruits like Sam from Alliser thus gaining some to his side(like the books) Jon also attempts to ditch the NW to fight in his family's war. He also infiltrates the Wildlings for the NW, falls in love, then abandons her.

What do you mean about his ability to lead men? He's made squire to the LC in the 1st season so he can be groomed to lead someday. If that isn't foreshadowing for the viewers I don't know what is...

  4. Ha ha - I totally thought so too

I just hope they will do the right thing and get Jon back to the Wall for that. Now that he's going to Crasters, I had a horrible thought that they may skip his role in the defence of the wall and have him captured by Mance or otherwise ending up straight in Mance's tent so as to be positioned there for the Stannis arrival. In which case there'd be no last "you know nothing Jon Snow". Surely they won't do that to us?!!?

There's some promos with Jon fighting during the battle at CB(or what I assume to be CB) with Styr the Magnar

  5. -What the motherfucking fuck!? That last 20 minutes were half fan-fiction, half WoW spoiler

-Those Others look like Dragonball characters. I want Goku to kick ass and save that baby

-Ser Pounce is so going to watch Tommen and Margaery bang

Well, overall it was...different, I really don't know what to think

have your seen the DBZ live action flick?

    Dude, looks like piccolo

MAN, screw the Oberyn casting we got SER POUNCE.

they sure kept that one tight lipped

  6. That's a really interesting question.

As far as I can tell, there was no mention of coins placed on his eyes during the funeral.

In fact, although funerary customs are mentioned, that particular practice doesn't appear in the books.

My guess is that it is a vague reference to the belief that the soul of the deceased has to a pay a fee to the ferryman on its way to the underworld.

Even nowadays, it is not unusual to place coins on the eyes of the deceased.

But unlike Charon's obol, which was a coin, Joffrey has stones on his eyes, painted as another pair of eyes.

Perhaps it was a subtle reference to the fact that it was important for Joffrey to be there, watching his parents having sex?

Perhaps it was a reminder of the fact that while Cersei cannot escape their past, Jaime wants to continue?

Besides, Joffrey was their firstborn and the only child left to them.

The Martells got Myrcella, Tommen was taken by Tywin, all Cersei has got is Joffrey's corpse.

I am really looking forward to the next Cersei-Tommen scene.

I dont really have an answer to the original question, but they also did it with jon Arryn in the first season. So they kinda had no choice but to do this with joffrey also, i think

Other than that i have no clue

  7. hmmm Surely, this ep. does not merit anything less than a seven(8 Imo) but a 5 or 4 let a lone 2 or 1, Wow! I didnt know people could be so harsh. I can only imagine what they think of half of other crap on Tv. Thats no excuse or anything, im just saying...

Holding it to book standards should be a crime in and of itself

Except, where Stannis is concerned :smoking:

  8. Personally, I love those. Jaime's relationship with Tyrion was his first redeemable quality that we knew of. There wasnt enough of them in the books, though the upcoming ones will probably be book canon too. But those might go down the drain also when that "Tysha confession" comes along...

    ...if it comes along.

  9. In that promo, depending on how the Cersei scene where she tells Jaime to go hunt for Sansa is handled he might even lose more fans. The Bronn training session will probably just fly over their heads, i mean itll just be him being a noob... i forgot the rest... gotta go watch again

Anyways, I think, but im not sure, that Brienne is a very loved character by the unsullied and when Jaime gives her Oathkeeper and that new armor they will forget all about what happened a couple days ago(maybe)

If anything they might just think hes a cool piece of shit

  10. Yah, but Oberyn looks more bored than anything(perhaps hes checking out Marg) and, im sure, we can agree that Pycelle was never gonna be the focal point of THAT,

rhmolt, is also correct that theres a better take that focuses solely on Qot (Loras also, technically)

also, dude in background looking hella stoned haha

  11. I'm fine with him being reduced, but his little head just popping out of the bushes to grab Sansa at the end there made me laugh a little, which I don't think was their intent.

i dont think so, either. Funny thing is, it shouldve been. She's being rescued by a "fool" with a ridiculous hat its something Sansa brings up in the books, her "florian" or whatevr
