mastema
Will it be revealed why the white walkers like to make spiral designs out of body parts?
Uncle Benjen's
I hope they keep it ambiguous to be honest. It's much more fun to speculate Personally I imagine they are the symbols used in the ancient runes of the First men, their way of sending a message but sadly the humans can't understand it. I doubt the show will explain it but the book might.

mastema
i figured it was something related to casting spells / magic what do you think the white walkers casting out in the humanlands with their designs? we saw they create other white walkers in the land of always winter so it cant be that. maybe some kind of farseeing or scrying into the future? Uncle Benjen's
I'm not sure but having re-watched episode 5, in the scene where the WW are being created there's an aerial view of the ritual and you can clearly see that the set is laid out similar to how the WW laid out the bodies at the start of season 1.
