bloodsteel bitterraven
Lets assume that Cersei somehow loses the trial (Robert Strong has never fought a battle and could collapse the moment Qyburn's remote control runs out of batteries :P ). Let's also assume that Stannis is dead. What happens? Does the small council send a letter to Shireen to have her sit on the throne? Does Mace try to marry her to Willas (lol)? I can only imagine what kind of a mess it will be.

devilrob6
I think the Tyrells would keep Tommen / Margaery on the throne. If they don't accept Stannis' claim, they will not accept Shireens claim either.
mrunderhill
Why would the send for Shireen if there's still Tommen? If Cersei loses the trial then Tommen is illegitimate. It would be a tremendous mess. In theory they should then send for Shireen, but I am not sure everyone would accept this. More likely they go back to the Targaryens and proclaim Aegon as king. bloodsteel bitterraven
But Cersei's is accused of having an incestuous affair with her brother, which would make Tommen a bastard. I think Kevan explained this very well to Mace and father Tarly. If Cersei loses the trial, Tommen is a bastard and no longer king.

Timm Snow
which is is why i have no hope whatsoeve that cersei is going to be finished soon, although i find ser ungregor tremendously cheap as a plot device.but going along with this. i presume this would be the cause of margaery's death somehow. she would be a "tragic" victimt of the ensuing chaos. mace without a daughter and only 1 sone left as an heir may try to install willas as king to queen shireen. devilrob6
Cersei losing the trail does not automatically mean that Tommen is a bastard. It only proves that Cersei has slept with Jaime, not that Tommen can not be Roberts son.So in that case Tommen is still a Baratheon and the Tyrells are still not seen as usurpers. Tommen's blood is already challenged, by Stannis' letter, but still he is supported by most of the realm. And yes, the faith would not support Shireen probably because her family worships R'hllor. It would make sense for them to either support Aegon, or stick with Tommen.

Sammyloo
Interesting situation. If cersei looses, of course tommen's claim will be questioned. But that doesn't mean he will be overthrown, the tyrells like the fact that the queen is theirs. Although with varys there to murder and mayhem things up, I'm sure somehow tommen will stay. And Myrcella isn't gone from the picture either. Dorne would support her to further their claim...
