Scenario: becoming mad King after Rhaegar's death

News had arrived from the battlefield and they aren't good. The crown prince is dead, the loyalist army is leaderless, The Tyrells are returning home and there's rumours that Ned and Tywin are mobilizing their troops to KL. Many have tried to advice the king including Jamie but the man refuse to listen to anyone. His rants of retribution and violence grow more frequent. Suddenly a moment of silence rule the royal hall as Aeys has suddenly gone silent. Jamie calls Pycelle as the king looks as if he had fainted. As soon as he reopens his eyes you notice that you have become Aerys. What would you do?

My plan

a- I would appoint Aegon as my successor.

b- I would make a one to one meeting with Jamie Lannister. I would be honest with him, by telling him that the kingdom is lost and that retribution will be incredibly violent to everyone especially the innocent children who has nothing to do with it. The only way for the kingdom to survive is for Jamie to step up way beyond his KG duties. Hopefully the boy is obsessed enough with doing the right thing that he will do as I say.

c- I would release Jamie from KG only to appoint him as Protector of the Crown and the second most powerful person in the kingdom. I would appoint Aegon as my successor and I would promise Jamie, Rhaenys hand once the war is over. Hopefully that would turn Tywin at my side.

d- Id sent emissaries to Mace with the following news. Years of loyalty has not gone unnoticed

1-Mace had been appointed Hand of the King, with Tarly appointed as Hand of the King.
2- Once the war is over, Mace will be allowed to decide whose going to be Lord of Dragonstone. That may also include one of his sons

All Im asking is for him not to bend the knee to Bob and keep on fighting.

e- Id sent emissaries to the Greyjoys with the following promises

1- Semi independence similar to the one the Martells have (title of prince and al)
2- the Greyjoys will be given the Riverlands back

However they need to join the war

f- Id sent emissaries to the Golden Company with the following promises

1- Pardon and reintegration to Westeros as a cadet family to the Targs
2- The Stormlands

You know the grip

g- Once everything is set, Id leave KL with Jamie, the small counci, Elia, the kids and co and go to Dorne. Id only keep few loyal people in KL ready to ignite the dragonfire bomb once Ned or the usurper reaches the city. Hopefully Ned and Bob would fall to my trap and reach the city with as many soldiers as possible

h-Id use the treasury to hire as many mercenaries as possible, which hopefully include the Unsullied. I would also send emmissaries beyond the wall, promising the free men lands in the gift if they help topple the Starks. The Greyjoy fleet can help by transporting these soldiers on Stark lands.

-----------------

The rebels simply don't have the supply line needed to engage themselves into a long war, and that's exactly what I hope to achieve. My plan is a war of attrition ie keep the war going for a long time. Cut off by the Tyrell food supply line (hopefully the Tyrell-Lannister-loyalist joint forces would be enough to ward the enemy off) and weakened by the Dragonfire bomb, the rebels will be torn by fighting the organized Tyrell-Lannister army on their own land or attempt fate and follow me to Dorne, were the desert and lack of supplies would test the Arryn-Stark army hard. Hopefully by the time they decide to fully commit themselves to one of these decisions, fresh troops from Essos and the Greyjoys would join the fray further demoralizing and hitting the rebels hard forcing them to negotiate

Escape with the treasury.  That's the best move for King Aerys.  Jaime is shaky and I don't really think he could be trusted.  I would order as many men as are available to seize Jaime, take him into custody, use him as a bargaining chip with Lord Tywin.   Sneak out of the city with the entire treasury.  Varys would help.  Murder Pycelle to keep him quiet.  Set wildfire in the basement of the Red Keep.  Instruct Rossart to remain in disguise and watch from a distance.  As soon as the usurpers arrive at the Red Keep, set off the wildfire.

Use Viserys to build an alliance with the Pentoshi Magisters.  Marry the boy off to gather more gold and more men.  Wait for Dany and promise her marriage to a Martell.  Make contact with Balon Greyjoy and agree to give the Iron Islands the north, in exchange for their help.  Hire assassins to kill those who might oppose.  Ask Varys to do what he can to destabilize the realm.
