Nissa
Did anyone else get super sad when Maester Aemon died? Also what do you think was meant by 'The Sphynx was the riddle and not the riddler" ?
Philokles
Yes, he was one of my favourite characters. I found it especially sad just before he died, when he thought that he was speaking to Egg. As for the meaning of the Sphinx, keep reading. The answer should be a little clearer by the end of AFFC.
Nissa
Thanks! Glad to know it will come up later. I thought the same thing about Egg. I also thought it was sad he was so upset that he couldn't do anything to help Dany.
Bellegere Otherys
Hmm. Aemon's last words were definitely a tear-jerker, but it was also almost hopeful. It seemed to me that he thought he was young again, and that he was reunited with his brother in death, even if it was only in his fevered imagination, which makes it even sadder for the people who watched it happen. So, it's bittersweet, I guess.
