Bastard Pretender
Slavery seems to have been a common practice in the Old Valyrian Freehold, and slaves were cheap. When the Targaryens first left Valyria for Dragonstone, did they have slaves with them? If so, did they have them after the doom and during aegon's conquest? Did he abandon/free them during the conquest so that he wouldn't anger the faith/the people of westeros?
Lord Varys
We know Aenar the Exile brought his slaves with him to Dragonstone. How long the Targaryens kept them is unknown.
Protagoras
This sound like a practice that only survived as long as the Targaryens chose to isolate themselves from Westeros and at latest ended with Aegon (I think he was smart enough to ralize before it would be an issue that people wouldn´t lokk favourly upon him if he kept slaves in a culture slavery is seen as wrong).
