Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

Yes I see what you mean. It's also what I mean with the title of Lord of Casterly Rock being symbolic. Not just because he will be a Lord with power, but because he will be recognized as a real Lannister, as a real part of the family. I don't think it's pure hatred of Cersei from him ; he hates her because she doesn't accept him. The tears in the video, for me, are : "why doesn't she love me?" And I think that deep down, he just wants to be accepted and recognized in the family, and I think that receiving that title would mean that to him.

I don't think he would care that it's empty. Him being Lord of Casterly Rock would be highly symbolic for him (and a big f**k you to his late father :D) edit : yup, I agree about the dialogues (it hurts, really)

But will he betray Dany for Casterly Rock, if Cersei promises it to him ?

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

Yes, but it's kind of how they work, isn'it ? Remember that awful Sansa/Arya/Littlefinger thing last season ? Almost all off screen... I still think that Cersei proposing him to be Lord of Casterly Rock could work. Maybe he was reluctant at first, but seeing Dany turning "mad" and the offer being too tempting, could make him finally accept it.

I totally agree with you, I think it would make perfect sense with everything we've seen so far.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

I think Dany's story will be way, WAY more developped in the books of course, and I expect to see her going more and more to that "mad" side of her (don't like the word, but you see the idea). But I still think that in the end, she will overcome that (at least, I really hope so). It will make way more sense than in the ultra condensed show. About Tyrion, I guess at some point we will know what him and Cersei told each other at the end of season 7. There was certainly a negotiation. Of course there is the family side, of course Cersei "promised" him to send armies to the North, but I think that the one thing Cersei could also give him, and that he always wanted, would be naming him Lord of Casterly Rock (whether she really intends to do it or not is another question).

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

I'm not at all saying that they did a good job (really, really far from it, trust me !). I also don't think that her becoming mad is out of character (that's why I was really enclined to believe the leaks). I definitely think that she has that side in her. But my hope would be that she overcomes that side of her. What didn't make sense to me is how the ending would turn : Jon killing Dany is tragic to me, not bittersweet. (but again, who knows, with them?) edit : as divica says, cruel or vindictive would be more appropriate.

Maybe not Cersei directly, but for the child she bears ? (or that he thinks she bears) Still, whatever the reason, he's siding with her, I would say. edit: Well, on the other hand, we don't know if Cersei will still be alive at this point in the books, so we'll see I guess

I think Tyrion being a traitor could also be D&D's 3rd WTF moment : not so much the traitor part I think, but the fact that he betrays Dany for Cersei (which would be, I think, Dany's betrayal for love).

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

(Long time lurker here, hello ! o/) I've been pretty bummed by the "Jon killing Dany" leak, really, it didn't make any sense to me... that's definitely not what I would call bittersweet. I thought that the spanish leak rang more true that the other ones, but still, one of the other ones nailed what happened in the previous episodes and STILL has the Jon kills Dany in it. It also tells that Drogon takes away Dany's body. I started believing that maybe it was a false leak planted inside true ones, to make us doubt/believe it, but I'm not so sure anymore. I found two interesting leaks while searching : This one And this one See the first one was posted on the 15th April, and nails it until now. The second one has this interesting line "The betrayal reveal is a scene with Jon, Sansa, Dany and Arya". So how is it possible to reconciliate all of this? Well I may be wearing my tinfoil hat here, but what if all of this is a plan to trap Tyrion ? What if Jon "stabs" Dany, and Drogon takes her body so that Tyrion couldn't see that she wasn't really dead? (yeah I know, that could sound weird, I don't know how they would manage the fake stabbing :D) Tyrion seeing that would reveal himself, and his treason to Dany. Actually, I think that when we see Sansa telling Tyrion Jon's secret, she's not actually breaking an oath, but setting in motion a plan to trap Tyrion, a plan that they all decided in the Godswood, after the reveal. That would really go well with another thing that was said in the spanish leak thread : Because yes, we still don't know exactly what Tyrion and Cersei told each other last season... Oh another thing, I have a feeling that Emilia's interview where she says that she was really depressed reading Dany's end is just a big red herring put in place to make us believe that she is going to get mad (they already did something like that with Jon's "death", why wouldn't they do that now?) ... Or maybe I'm just totally wrong and we're all going to cry in two weeks, you know But at least I have some hope until then...
