  1. It would be a 300% improvement if during his confrontation with Dany, Jon started singing "Everyone's a hero in their own way".
  2. I don't really care about the internal logic of anything that happened since the show doesn't either, but this might have been one of the most dull, cringeworthy episodes yet. They keep doing these extremely long conversations, but the dialogue is so bad it feels like it was written by a 7 year old. I mean seriously, it's supposed to be the ultimate dramatic moment of the series, Jon confronting Dany. The cinematography is perfect, the music is captivating and then they open their mouths: It's like Star Wars prequel level territory. At least it's all over now.

Rant & Rave without Repercussion: Burn It All Edition

Season 5, 6 and 7 you mean. Also parts of season 4, but maybe let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I don't think the show even tries to paint her as mad, just ruthless I guess? The actual catalyst to her going postal seems to be when Jon doesn't want to have sex with her anymore. "Let it be fear". That would make her burning KL a cold blooded decision, not just something snapping inside her. Of course writing and screenplay of this show is so botched it's really hard to tell what's intended or not and I'm not about to delve into the madness of watching D&D explain their decisions.
  5. The dragons sure seem pretty useless. I guess Aegon the Conqueror was lucky his enemies never thought of building a ballista or there wouldn't be much conquering. So much for the WMD analogies. Also, during the final scene they brilliantly park the last dragon on the ground within the sights of like 6 of these bolt throwers. Why didn't Cersei just fire and kill it, winning the war right there right then? How did she know it had plot armor on? Did she read the script?
  6. If that's the end of the undead storyline, which seems to be the case, all I can say is LOL. 7 seasons of buildup starting with the very first scene of the very first episode and it ends with Anakin Arya blowing up the mothership Night King and the droids zombies collapsing. Wow, what a climax. And now with that out of the way we can get to the real final boss, Cersei. There's so much wrong with that I can't even. As much effort as they put into the battle itself, I have to say I was pretty bored halfway through. I mean it was a very cool Heroes of Might & Magic cutscene, it just took way way too long. Contrast this to Blackwater which was paced perfectly, had genuine emotional stakes and had proper setup and payoff. I still rewatch that episode from time to time. This one I'm never going to unless I feel like testing the black levels of a new TV.
