  1. No. I actually liked the very wide angle shot we got of the Bolton cavalry surrounding Stannis's army and destroying them. Was a perspective we've rarely seen in any historical battle.
  2. What I could see is Jon gone for a season, then returning for S7
  3. "Only Cat" vs "your sister" seems like an incredible nit pick. Dont get the outrage. In terms of book departures its incredibly tame
  4. I had a pit in my stomach the whole episode. Not knowing what was coming would have been shocking. Holy Fuck
  5. WOWowowowow. Im freaking out right now. That was incredible.
  6. HOLY FUCK I havent had this much of a Nerdgasm since Return of the King. That was probably the single best hour of TV programming ive ever watched,
  7. Why do people still think Dagmer is Ramsay? We've now heard at least twice how Ramsay is traveling north with a force to retake Winterfell. Roose didnt tell Robb "My son is at winterfell wating to strike". Jeyne/Talisa doesnt bother me. Minor characters with irrelevent backstory. We all know what happens soon anyways......
  8. Jamie killing his cousin serves to remind the audience just how much of an asshole he is. And as he did say to Cersei in season one, he'll kill everyone to be together with her. I imagine Jon will Kill Quorin in Ep 10, aptly named Valar Morghulis. Probably leaving the audience thinking he betrayed his vows (and then to be revealed he did on orders next season). Seems like a good way to wrap up his storyline this season. Well, Rickon commmented how the one kid was a good tree climber (or some such) so it is possible they never went to the village and the cracked chestnuts were from the millers boys. On a side note finding cracked chestnuts in a homestead is a piss poor reason for thinking youve found the escapees. EDIT - I dont see why Bran has to go back to Winterfell. I think he'll just continue on. It makes zero sense to go back.
  9. Loved it. Things picking up for the climax! Book purists need to understand this isnt the books. It the show. Oddly all the same posters who teeth gnash and whine every week in these threads keep watching. You'd think if it bothered them so much they stop.
  10. Great episode - Jon and Ygritte spooning. I lol'd. - Tywin since he arrived at Harrenhal is reminding me of a DragonBall Z story arc. He spending multiple episodes in the same room discussing battle strategy is like Goku spending multiple episodes powering up. Tywin is about to ascend to "Super Lannister 3" - I like the contrast of Theon and Ned in the decapitations. Ned took care of it like a Soldier and a Man. Theon looked like a kid playing war. - The Dragons getting stolen adds a bit of excitement to Danys story. Its been stalled pretty much since the funeral pryre. I dont see how this cancels the visions in the HOTU. - The Hound was great this episode. Although im slightly disconcerted that Sandor appears like a giant while Gregor a few epsiodes looked like an average dude. I realize that book hound is a big dude too, but the difference isnt great enough in the TV series IMO. Forgive my mis-memory as I read the first four books one after another, but doesnt Jamie do SOMETHING in ACOK? Like Anything?
  11. Does Jaquen reference the Red God in the books? Faceless Men are supposed to revere the "Many Faced God"
  12. Would you rather it be on network television and lose a half hour a week to commercials? HBO is doing a fantastic job. 50 minutes commercial free kick ass television on a substantial budget is far from completely unacceptable.
  13. i dont think its that hard for non-book readers to follow. I think we as fans of the books can make it MORE difficult for ourselves to follow. We know how GRRMs story goes. But this isnt his story. We are trying to fit in GRRMs story with what we are seeing on screen happening, and what is going to happen. The truth is we dont know how HBO is going to take the story. We know A-Z what has happened in the books. But dont assume HBO is going to follow that path to get to Z. A non-book fans brain isnt cluttered up with GRRMs story. They arent constantly trying to figure out how the events happening are going to work with what we know happens in the future in the books.
  14. Im starting to think they wanted us to think "that" was going to happen. After all the brutality and horror in that scene, "that" doesnt happen and were all like "oh thank the god(s)"
  15. Just wanted to say again how awesome the shadow baby scene was I mean, I love the books as well as the next person on this board, but the produces must have had sleepless nights trying to figure out how they were going to pull that scene off without making it look like a really bad, B rated straight to DVD movie release. Try explaining that scene to a non-fan and make them think it could look even half good. But HBO once again NAILED it. :handclap:
