  1. As the title suggests I’m a huge fan. Right now I’m almost done with Dark Age and I already bought Lightbringer, which I’ll start after. I just finished “that” Lyria chapter in Dark Age. So I’m in complete despair atm.
  2. It sounds impossible because we do not conflate show canon with book canon. It is not one of the 3 things George told the Showrunners, it was something seperate George added to the show, to make the Catspaw Dagger shit make sense
  3. My problems with the dream is that it’s never been hinted at in the books, and the fact it makes The Targaryens look like morons.
  4. The reason the Hoares could take the the Riverlands and hold them so well was BECAUSE OF THE RIVERS. It’s why they had trouble expanding beyond. They wouldn’t expand into the Stormlands naturally. The Reach would be their most likely target. It has rivers, and is on the western coast of Westeros. It’s also larger and would be harder for the Gardeners to defend.
  5. Without their dragons, Aegon would be slave and his sister would be Harrens Salt Wives
  6. I understand you want to keep glazing the Targaryens and are blind to logic, but you can’t seem to wrap your head around the fact that show and book canon are seperate. Nymeria immediately assimilated with the Dornish and their cultures melded. You also don’t acknowledge that Nymeria and her people were refugees fleeing from the Targaryens and Valyrians. Brandon was a genocidal maniac just like Aegon and his sisters lol, you invented that to cope. And it absolutely does. The Shield of the People title was invented by Visenya and Aegon as a PR move to make him sound better. And the 7K beat the Others once without dragons and they can again. But let’s entertain the idea that Aegon was purely selflessly motivated. He invaded sovereign kingdoms to fight the Others. What did he do afterwards to help prepare? What? He didn’t tell anyone except his heir. And they did the same. They never strengthened the Night’s Watch. The North. In fact at almost every opportunity they spit in the Northerners faces. If Aegon’s dream is true then Aegon, and his sisters and all the descendants, are fucking morons as well as genocidal maniacs.
  7. You mean a foreigner, who just conquered a foreign land, wants the people to view him as a shield? A savior? Huh my guy it was propaganda lol
  8. He was 20 years old when he died, a year after the Dance
  9. The War of the Five Kings would never have happened if the Kingdoms were independent
  10. The Tully’s weren’t breaking the King’s Peace. When the Lannisters attacked it was Walder’s Obligation to defend the Riverlands. The Lannisters weren’t under the Crown’s auspices at the start
  11. True but he is, I believe, 19-20 during the Dance. And he has been raiding and killing grown men in combat since he was 12. And he wields VS sword. Daemon & Cole are knights. Dalton is a killer’s killer.
  12. This does not include deliberate misinterpretations of character and events. Criston Cole and Daemon Targaryen were considered the greatest warriors of the Dance due to their fame. Cregan Stark, Roderick Dustin, and Dalton Greyjoy would’ve dog walked either of them if they ever fought.
  13. 1. Her death was faked, either as part of Vary’s plot, and she is Septa Lemore. Or that Howland x Ashara was real and she is in the Neck. or 2. Ned x Ashara was real. Think about it. She was beautiful young woman, admired but most men of the realm. A child would’ve been a burden to her. Losing the child, while absolutely traumatic, It’d be beneficial to her that she miscarried. At least I don’t believe on its own it’s be enough for her to kill herself. But the loss of the child’s father, if she loved him? I could see that in conjunction with the miscarriage. The other candidates are, Ned, Brandon, or Rhaegar. I’m fairly certain Rhaegar is not the father, as I’m convinced of R+L=J completely, and having a 3rd secret Rhaegar child would be egregious. Leaving Brandon and Ned. Brando was already engaged when they met, Ashara would know this, so even if Brandon was the father I can’t see her falling in love with an engaged man she had a fling with. Leaving Ned. Ned absolutely the most sense. He was single, high ranking noblemen. He had connections to the Starks, Tullys, Arryns, and Baratheons. He danced with her at Harrenhal, and he is a Stark that could have “defiled” her, as proclaims. We also have the fact, that upon his arrival at Starfall, he would have broken off their relationship, likely after her miscarriage AND he just came from killing her brother. We also have the timing of her suicide, happening shortly after Ned was at Starfall. and the secret third option of it just be a random shmoe’s baby
  14. Ashara’s miscarried daughter was Ned’s bastard daughter. And the reason she offer herself was 1. Her child died 2. Her love abandoned her for another woman who had his child and Robb lived 3. Her love killed her brother
  15. It seems like every time the Targaryens interacted with the North, the North, and the Starks suffered. forcing Torrhen to kneel or face dragon genocide like Dorne. forcing Torrhen to marry his daughter to an Arryn, and she is murdered by an Arryn afterwards Alaric Stark’s brother being killed as a result of Jaehaerys sending rebellious knights and militants to the Wall (less egregious) Alysanne stealing farmable land from the Northern Lords, and giving it to the NW who naturally let it fall into disrepair Never helping the North when winter comes Never helping the North when the Wildlings attacked. Taking taxes from the North Then you have the events of Robert’s Rebellion In terms of positives we have Ending the Right of Night (though the only named example is carried out by a Southern Lord of possibly Valyrian origin) Roads Possible stabilization of trade. No dragon genocide
  16. They weren’t acting in the name of the King. Tywin’s pride was wounded so he invaded
  17. Execute Walder Frey. Walder Frey was not only openly ignoring his liege Lord’s call for aid against an invading Lannister army, but was actively stopping an army from coming to their aid. And then he had the hutzpah to coerce marriages pacts for passage. And, the Frey family likely wouldn’t have cared much at all. So many opportunists that they’d love Walder finally kicking it. Stevron MAY care, but that’s it.
