  1. Is the imposing Palace of Justice mentioned in TWOIAF's Braavos chapter the same as the Palace of Truth in AFFC (called the Hall of Truth in TWOW Mercy)?
  2. The wiki currently has the Rogares at "Rogare family". Should they instead be at "House X"? TWOIAF indicates that Westerosi consider Valyrian nobles to be houses. Braavos has the influential Prestayns (Captains Luco and Moredo) and Antaryons (current Sealord Ferrego). The Saans are currently at "Saan family". Are they considered noble?
  3. I agree! Also, I noticed that the sunburst in House Karstark's sigil currently includes a face, but I don't recall this from the books.
  4. Should we make a brief "The Forsaken" article for TWOW section of Chapters, which currently only has articles for published sample chapters? Using the Alayne chapter as an example, "Alys Stone" links to "Alayne I (The Winds of Winter)". That title would eventually be moved to "The Winds of Winter-Chapter XX" when TWOW is released, but we would still be able to see which articles use "Alayne I (The Winds of Winter)" as a reference. Their content would then be compared to the finalized print version.
  5. I thought our policy was to wait until George releases chapters on his website, rather than just being read aloud at a convention. Written chapters can be verified by the wiki user (whether on George's website or in the excerpts section of the app). We did our best to recall how this new chapter went and some people took notes, but our memory isn't 100%. Plus, George mentioned in-between the end of the chapter and the start of the Q&A that he may still make changes.
  6. Maybe include more information about why a character is listed or who considers him/her an alcoholic? For instance: King Robert I Baratheon, considered a drunkard by Sansa Stark{{ref|AGOT|44}} and Cersei Lannister{{ref|AFFC|32}} Septon Cellador, considered a drunkard by Jon Snow{{ref|AGOT|19}}{{ref|ASOS|69}} Ser Dontos Hollard, considered a drunkard by Sansa Stark{{ref|ACOK|18}} Prince Daeron Targaryen, remembered as Daeron the Drunken{{ref|THK}}{{ref|TWOIAF| The Targaryen Kings: Maekar I}} Lord Harmond Umber, remembered as the Drunken Giant{{ref|ADWD|7}}{{ref|TWOIAF| The Wall and Beyond: The Wildlings}}
  7. I would be surprised if they are separate characters instead of an editing mistake. Within the text, Orland is connected with Robert (Winterfell feast) and Joffrey (Purple Wedding). Ormond is mentioned in the last three appendices, but is never mentioned in the text. Similarly, the ranger Ebben is called Eggen in the ASOS Appendix.
  8. Thank you, Ran! I'll make note for the wiki. Do you mind if we ask worldbuilding questions like that?
  9. @Ran The Citadel's House Glover entry says, "Robett Glover rules the house, although he seems to share power with his brother Galbart." The newer appendices clarify that Galbart is the "Master of Deepwood Motte", however. "Sybelle" is also misspelled once as "Sybella" in the spoilers section. Also, it is often claimed on fora that the Glovers and Tallharts are of a "masterly" rank equivalent to the southron landed knight. Do you know if this is what GRRM intends? The Velaryons and Borrells are both lords and masters, however.
  10. I believe it is to emulate the round shields often used by Dornishmen.
  11. Thanks! Looks good! Looks like Mallador is last mentioned as being at the Fist, but I haven't found confirmation of him dying there. Can't find anything about a place named Chyttering. The Green Ronin RPG and The Citadel list the house as sworn to King's Landing. The AFFC Appendix says that Lord Lucos Chyttering is sworn to Storm's End in the Stannis section.
  12. @John Suburbs points out here that "Our Blades are Sharp" is not included for House Bolton in The Citadel's house mottoes page. I don't see mention in either of the RPG books. Did George mention it in an interview at some point?
  13. I've been adding some more detail regarding the Cyanide game lately, at least. I'm under the impression that the Green Ronin adventures are inspiration for dungeon masters and players, rather than something intended to be canon. We can focus on making it clearer for the reader that the information comes from games or shows, as opposed to canon books. We also need to add the Warning template for all articles relating to the released TWOW samples. Right now it's only on a few pages. "This information has thus far been released in a sample chapter for ''[[The Winds of Winter]]'', and might therefore not be in finalized form. Keep in mind that the content as described below is still subject to change."
  14. I agree that "Sarwyck" should be a redirect to the list for that game in that case, rather than being a red link bringing up search results. There have only been a few new houses introduced in the games, so we could alternatively keep House pages (Glenmore, Harlton, Sarwyck, Westford) with their in-game history. Instead of numerous stub articles for game characters, they can instead be described on the House page ("Raynald Sarwyck" would redirect to "House Sarwyck" rather than have his own article). Rather than clutter up House Forrester, we could have separate "House Forrester" (with the canon ADWD info) and "House Forrester (Telltale)" (with the extra game content) articles. This wiki has in the past been books focused, but not books exclusive. For many years we have had articles for characters who have only appeared in the show. http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Category:Characters_from_the_TV_show_only
  15. I would say less useful ones would be Tyrion: When I was your age, I used to dream of having a dragon of my own. Jon Snow: You did? Tyrion: Oh, yes. Even a stunted, twisted, ugly little boy can look down over the world when he's seated on a dragon's back. I used to start fires in the bowels of Casterly Rock and stare at the flames for hours, pretending they were dragonfire. Sometimes I'd imagine my father burning. At other times, my sister. Don't look at me that way, bastard. I know your secret. You've dreamt the same kind of dreams.[14] ” “ When you tear out a man’s tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.[28] ” “ Sorcery is the sauce fools spoon over failure to hide the flavor of their own incompetence.[55] ”
  16. I removed a number from Tyrion, at least, although there are still many left.
  17. Regarding the House Stark article, there was a recent removal of Brandon and Lyanna from "House Stark at the end of the third century" with the explanation "both died well before the events of the books/end of the 3rd century. no other article (f.e. house targaryen) lists people that died during RR". They were removed outright, instead of being moved to Historical Members. Rather than being limited to characters from the start of AGOT, these sections seem to include the most recent 1-2 generations. For instance, House Martell includes Elia and Lewyn (who died in RR) and House Arryn includes Jon's brother Jasper and nephew Elbert (who died before or during RR). House Lannister includes Tywin's brothers Tygett and Gerion, who died/vanished before AGOT as well. House Baratheon's corresponding section, in contrast, begins with Robert's generation and has his father Steffon in Historical Members.
  18. I don't think a solid number was ever agreed upon, but quotes should be included within reason. Is there an article with an overabundance which can be trimmed?
  19. Yep, displays correctly at House Hoare!
  20. Do you know of any templates that are already like that? I've only edited templates based on previously-created formats.

    Board Issues 4

It lost a few edits from earlier today (3/15), such as to "Andal invasion", but has edits made yesterday (3/14).
  22. Sure, there's room for improvement; I just threw it together as a sample.
  23. Maybe we could depict the changing seats and lords within the Noble House templates? http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php?title=Sandbox&oldid=181786
