  1. "Hound (disambiguation)" would be used if there are multiple articles called the Hound, which isn't really this situation. "Hound" could redirect to "Sandor Clegane" with a hatnote at the top (something like "Hound" redirects here. See also [[Rorge]] or [[Lem]].), but that would immediately reveal to readers of the Sandor article that Rorge and Lem also become known as the Hound during the story. Through the first three books I would have said that "Hound" should be a redirect to Sandor, like "Kingslayer" is simply Jaime. To me, however, AFFC expands the Hound as a topic beyond just Sandor (Thoros scolds Lem for essentially becoming the successor of Sandor and Rorge). Separately, do we know anything more about "Leslyn" of the Peach? In ASOS Bella says, "They say King Robert fucked my mother when he hid here, back before the battle. Not that he didn't have all the other girls too, but Leslyn says he liked my ma the best." The wiki states she is a whore, but the character is not mentioned with the other peaches in the appendix. The only other Leslyn is a male in the same book, Ser Leslyn Haigh.
  2. What would be an alternative title? The Hound article explains the Sandor connection immediately, and most articles mentioning Sandor should be linking directly to "Sandor Clegane" instead of a Hound redirect. I could see rephrasing the Hound intro, but that could spoil the identity change. The app's entry for "Lem" states, "he and his band defeat Rorge's outlaws, and Lem appropriates the Hound's helm that Rorge had taken for himself". Do Rorge or Lem impersonate Sandor at any point, or do they like the fearsome imagery of the helm?
  3. The Elder Brother and Thoros tell Brienne that the Hound (Sandor) is dead. When speaking with the BWB, Brienne recognizes that she killed Rorge, who had taken the helm from Clegane's grave. Lem accepts the Hound designation, and Brienne hears Thoros differentiate between Sandor, Rorge, and Lem. She still thinks of Lem as the Hound even after Jack-Be-Lucky calls him "Lem". While the "Hound" starts off referring solely to Sandor (like Jaime is the only "Kingslayer"), it seems to me that the "Hound" has become an identity or persona rather than a specific person, like the Dread Pirate Roberts.
  4. There are multiple Hounds at this point, however (Sandor, Rorge, Lem).
  5. Young Griff isn't introduced until ADWD, five books into the series, so including the youth's description right after the introduction would be a spoiler for people looking for info about baby Aegon (who is mentioned fairly often in the early books). Alternatively, baby Aegon and Young Griff could have separate articles (Aegon's current article is longer than Ned's, Sansa's, and Arya's), similar to Brynden Rivers and the three-eyed crow.
  6. "Aegon Targaryen (son of Rhaegar)" has a section titled "Line of succession to the Iron Throne" which goes into detail about Aegon's place in the Targaryen succession. The Daenerys and Viserys articles don't have corresponding section. Is this section necessary for Aegon's article, or would it be more fitting at "House Targaryen" or "Iron Throne" (if the relevant info is not already in those articles)? The Aegon article could instead just mention that Aerys II choose Viserys over Aegon as his new heir after Rhaegar's death.
  7. Any thoughts about this? Many articles use the "(son/daughter of X)" system, like the Freys, Starks, and Targaryens.
  8. Ah, just wanted to clarify what is and is not permitted. Also, the TWOW disclaimer template should be added to the articles making use of the reading notes.
  9. Also, "Jon Umber" is currently a disambiguation page which links to "Jon Umber (Greatjon)", "Jon Umber (Smalljon)", and "Jon Umber (husband of Serena)". With the Stark and Targaryen titling system in mind, would it be better to move the Greatjon (the primary Jon Umber for ASOIAF) to "Jon Umber" and move the Smalljon to "Jon Umber (son of Jon)"?
  10. @Ran, there is content from The Forsaken in the Euron Greyjoy and Valyrian steel articles. Since GRRM has not released that chapter on his website or in the app yet, would you prefer the info be removed at this time? Alternatively, would you like us to create a summary for "The Forsaken", similar to the other TWOW preview chapters? I think the chapter was used to help arrange the Greyjoy family for the timeline project.
  11. Almost all mentions of pyromancers so far have concerned the wisdoms of the Alchemists' Guild in King's Landing, but Gonzalo pointed out that there are pyromancers in Asshai. Dany also sees a firemage in Qarth (who manipulates orange flame, not green wildfire). Should we have a separate article for pyromancers, which currently redirects to Alchemists Guild?
  12. Do we need Category:Places across the narrow sea? Also, do we need such a large article for Across the narrow sea? It's essentially duplicating info at Essos and known world, and could be shortened to a brief article describing the Westerosi phrase.
  13. Or we could simply move the "Raid on the Tower of Joy" info back to the article about the tower.
  14. From what I can tell, GRRM only uses melee/mêlée for tourneys, so the wiki using it for the tower of joy would be original research. "Combat" is at least canonically used in reference to Arthur and Ned.
  15. Ran might need to clarify for the purposes of AWOIAF, but Wikipedia seems to allow that. Does it depend on which license tag applies? Since registration is currently closed for technical purposes, should this be temporarily removed from the main page? "All pages can be edited and you are welcome to join us and contribute to this wiki."
  16. They're displaying for me now with Firefox on a different computer, so I'm not sure if it was a caching issue or a browser issue. Separately, the Telltale game was moved from "Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series" to "Game of Thrones (2014 video game)". Its official website and Facebook page use the full title, so shouldn't we also be using that instead of shortening the title and then disambiguating with "(2014 video game)"?
  17. Using Firefox, some of the house and regional templates are displaying info in lists of a single column which leaves a lot of empty space in each template box (Crownlands before and after, Seas before and after). Is it displaying that way for other users?
  18. The 7 vs. 3 at the tower of joy is currently described at "Raid on the Tower of Joy". I'm not aware of George giving this a proper name yet. How about "combat at the tower of joy", since lower case is used for the tower in AGOT?
  19. I agree. It could certainly be mentioned in an article about the episode ["The Winds of Winter (TV)"], but the novels and episodes are separate canons.
  20. Using the Sandbox, I changed Ned's template to: Does that do what is recommended?
  21. The KLsteeleart is my favorite of those.
  22. They're not on the wiki, but /r/imaginarywesteros has some good pictures by arienzo and wellfalcon.
  23. GRRM has used lower case within the novels so far, actually. edit: I changed the article's intro to match the case used in ASOS.
  24. Is the imposing Palace of Justice mentioned in TWOIAF's Braavos chapter the same as the Palace of Truth in AFFC (called the Hall of Truth in TWOW Mercy)?
