  1. This problem with the banner/ad on the left are making the forum almost completely inaccessible at this point.
  2. To each their own I guess. But the uncharacteristically low ratings for 4.10 on the ratings thread speaks volumes.
  3. We'll just putting a calendar week between show events didn't give the illusion of 4 chapters either. The battle was also longer than one night. It would have made 4.9 a full hour and gave them space in 4.10 to actually show characters working towards events instead of event, event, event, event, event, event....credits.
  4. They still did all that even with Stannis showing up. Them waiting a week to show them saving the NWs ass 10 minutes after Jon left the gate didn't do anything but suffocate 4.10.
  5. Don't see that anyones posted this...but this is how it should have ended. They certainly had the time with that short episode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k7QWm4pa8s
  6. I learned today that even though it may not be perfect and there are flaws to be found you can rate it 10 for entertainment value. So even people who don't think it's a 10, think it's a 10.
  7. People are going to short circuit next season. If they invented so much this season with a wealth of published material available, imagine where it's going from here.
  8. Agreed. He did say he was going to kill Mance or try. Point being it was pretty anti-climactic. it was a 48 minute episode with a weak climax. Stannis' 10 minute scene could have quite easily been added creating a pretty epic cap to an an otherwise excellent episode and giving the finale a whole lot more room to breathe.
  9. I'm not bothered by peoples opinions of the show, that is the place for this...argument, discussion, fawning, whatever. I happen to love the show, that's not the point. Someone else here seems to be insulted by others opinions...me saying someone has low standards does not indicate fact. I wish I had that much power. it's just as much BS or opinion as anything else. Sorry if it's striking a chord. My argument was with people being shocked that so many people gave the episode a "1", when very few if any people seem shocked when people give a show a '10' then admit that it has flaws, regardless of the scope of the flaws...minor or major. 10, is like 100%, complete or perfect...something that's flawed is not complete or perfect. I'll drop it, the point is "clearly" missed.
  10. You just said you're not saying it's flawless, but still gave it a 10. Thank you.
  11. Jon going to kill a guy without his sword was a climax?
  12. I'm not running around anywhere, just bored with seeing people bitch about 1 ratings when plenty of people give things 10. If 1 is irrational than so is 10. If it's clearly not the worst episode of TV ever, it's also clearly not the best. If someone though that was perfect, they're lying to themselves, delusional or have very low standards. I loved the episode, it wasn't a 10.
  13. Please also enlighten us on your opinion of those who rate the show a 10 when it clearly was not absolutely flawless and perfect. At the very least, if you enjoyed everything...but didn't feel the scenes were rushed due to trying to cram 10 pounds of shit into a 5 pound bag you're lying to yourself. The very highest rating this episode should have received is a 9. As good as it was, it was not flawless. Why do people get worked up about seeing a 1, but not a 10? it's only peoples opinions.
  14. lol...think about the worldwide meltdown if a kraken swallowed Arya's ship.
  15. What? Seriously? Sansa and Bran are done in the books already for the most part. Brienne is pretty damn close. There's not going to be 4-5 more seasons. For one, you're going to get 8 MAX, so 3 MAYBE 4....and if the show didn't catch up to the books for 3 seasons...just for arguments sake...that would be season 7... They're going to spend 3 seasons meandering about in Feast and Dance? They'll lose a ton of viewers to that boredom. Then the "last" season if they did 8 would be both of the last novels crammed into one season? Especially with Jaime going to Dorne...I bet the Riverlands is done. That's a HUGE chunk of Feast blown away.
  16. I think you're going to start seeing a lot more of those absolutely fruitless "almost" moments as they struggle to keep tangential characters active in the show narrative and on screen due to the way GRRM wrote the novels and the way D&D are painting themselves into corners adapting it. Bran almost meeting Jon Yara almost rescuing Theon Arya almost meeting up with Sansa None of those served any purpose other than filling time. and making the preview for the next episode seem like some kind of payoff.
  17. lol...I wish iOS knew what I meant as much as it thinks it does.
  18. Yikes. I'm not arguing numbers equalling quantity so I'm going to move on since the points completely lost.
  19. How many people are in the world? What does that even have to do with it lol. I agree plenty of people dislike it...but more like it than dont. More is a majority. Thats how the world works, because thats how money is made. Not sure what the total population of the US really has to do with itthough when its one of the all time top rated shows. Plenty of people on the forum also like it...
  20. I think you're a bit tainted just by seeing so many forum opinions. Talking to all the unsullied at work they loved it and thought it was one the greatest episodes and greatest seasons ever. So 1000 of us don't like it and 8 million people do like it. We're definitely not the majority they're catering to.
  21. They explained a minor plot point (in the show) from four seasons ago of Jorahs betrayal using a recap and a note. They could have easily recapped Thoros bringing Beric back and then have a couple guys chatting about " Beric giving her the kiss of life, she don't speak but she remembers" etc etc....the show some hooded woman and reveal her to be unCat. I'm not saying that I really long to see that, but they could've easily done it with no VFX at all, a couple extras and Fairley in makeup. It would have been one of the cheapest filmed and easily set up shots in the whole series IF they wanted LS in there. They obviously don't.
  22. I think at this point we should just thankful that they don't have him raiding the Dreadfort.
  23. I don't disagree with any of this but it doesn't change the fact that one of the Sandsnake readings that was on Vimeo is talking about him being in Dorne
  24. I think that helps the keep him busy while eliminating a whole plethora of only temporarily useful characters in the Riverlands arc. -They don't have to cast the Riverlands characters -They can avoid Lady Stoneheart -Keep Jaime in the story and somewhat active (whats he going to do all of season 5 otherwise, pout over the White Book and bang Cersei?) The only real hole that leaves is Brienne and her losing her end purpose w/ LS...but they can easily just have her move onto the Vale...which MIGHT be why they advanced Sansa so fast...to make room for future meetups that need to happen sooner.
  25. Apparently send him of to Dorne on some A-team type mission.
