  1. The small folk may be happy, but most of the Westeros houses certainly not. Some northern outsider and his friends have all the power now. How long they will be able to tolerate it? And even if Bran is able to see the future he has to actively seek it, so it´s only a matter of time till he gets completely paranoid FF´w his life desperately seeking for a signs of people plotting against him. Because that´s the only way he can survive. He has no great army to keep the power longtime. Tyrion and the Starks used the situation when everybody else was weakened and usurped all the power, but as soon as the other houses recover they will want some power back. And real power, not place on some meaningless council where all decision are premade because how you can argue against someone who already knows the outcome. Besides, even if Bran manages to stay on top it´s still dangerous. For example, Bran can see that 5 years for now there will be some nature catastrophy so he orders huge tax rises to make the preparations. Will people trust his lead? Even if it means many will be dying hungry now? And what if he goes fully Thanos and just decided there is too much people on Earth and some have to die for the rest to survive.
  2. I seriously doubt that. I think this is D&D´s invention. I have no doubt GRRM has plans for Dany to turn bad or atleast problematic when she starts to conquer KL, especially when her enemy isn´t Cersei but the new and popular king Aegon the fake. But I would bet it will be much more nuanced than Dany just going "F*ck it" and torching the city for no reason for 30 minutes while zigzagging and trying to hit as much people as possible as if she is playing some weird videogame. This was fully D&D. I think they realized Dany is too popular so burning Tarlys or even having a massive collateral damage while conquering the city will no be enough for people to turns again her. And that has to happen so Jon is still seen as hero even after what happens in episode 6. So they just went "to hell with subtlety" and wrote the scene so it´s 110 percent clear she is evil now. If they really cared about GRRM´s vision they would make it much more personal and focused on Dany´s descend. Instead she is not seen at all after the bells sounds and the fire hell seems more like natural catastrophy (or cut scenes from the Kit´s Pompeye movie). And it even goes boring after a while, when the same kind of scenes repeat again and again.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

Oh, I disagree. I think I would kind of like if the last scenes are people in the council already starting plotting and backstabbing each other again and then cut, Drogon brings Dany´s body into the NK´s land, puts her on the magic pedestal and she opens her blue eyes. End of the show. That would be right end for this nihilistic show D&D turned GoT into. Nothing has changed except the players, nobody has learned anything and we are right back at the beginning.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

I disagree. I think what GRRM wants to show with Daenerys is how she slowly turns into a villain for the Westeros people while she still believes she does what´s right. We will see her inner monologues, we will see how much she struggles with her decisions and how much it pains her, but ultimately "if she looks back, she is lost." She is the conqueror and I have no doubt her attack on the KL will be bloody in the books as well. But she will not burn people alive zigzagging around the streets for an hour for no reason. That´s D&D invention. They had to be afraid some people will still root for Dany if she just attacks the city or focuses only on the Red Kepp or Cersei even after the city surrender. So they went completely overtop and turned her into a worse villain than NK in 20 minutes, all so Jon is still seen as a hero when he kills her next episode.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

This. Also let´s not forget the Japan. Not only US used two nuclear bombs on their cities, but they also led a weeks long bombing campaigns which purposefully turned most of the cities into a fiery hell. And the military objective of the campaign was openly to rise enough terror and human casualties the Japanies will give up. And we still see a similar tactic today with the "shock and awe" campaigns, only much better masked with willing media and the so called "smart" bombs which are suppose to avoid unnecessary civilian casualties. If there is an enemy in the city it always ends with only two solutions: a) use special forces and infantry for actual street to street fight until the enemy is destryoed which is extremely costly in human sources and can be risky even for the most advanced army, or b) use bombs and planes and rockets to destroy the enemy from far, which is mostly save but usually ends with a lot of civilian casualties. As we can see everywhere around the world, nobody ever goes for the option A.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

But Varys and Tyrion are Dany´s main advisors. And so far they gave her no alternative. And she is not the mad queen, she´s the opposite, desperately trying to avoid the slaughter. She even agreed (again) to another pointless meeting with Cersei. If Varys offered he knows a secret way inside the city, she would have no problem go with that. But they are the most useless advisors ever, only muttering please don´t that and please don´t do that either while Dany is taking more and more loses each day. All they propose is besiege the city which with Cersei having long time to prepare and with how stubborn and determined she is, would probably take months, or even years, as she would rather let everyone in KL die in starvation than surrender. As for Jon? What support he truly has beside the North? Zero, because nobody knows him. He cannot even say he defeated the NK, his sister did. But that doesn´t matter anyway, because most of the Westeros still has no idea some NK and white walkers even existed. Actually, given his ressurection is also a secret, Jon is officially still a deserter from Nights Watch and should be executed. When I see Tyrion and Varys plotting I see two people who are desperate to rule from behind. And now they found a much easier figure to manipulate in Jon, so they decided he would be a better king. That´s the main motivation for the treason, not that Dany is bad, but that she is refusing to listen their (oh so noble and smart) advices.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

I don´t think this is the same. When Ned was executed the story was just beginning and GRRM made sure it´s interesting enough for readers to stay. And Rob was never an POV character. What´s happening with GoT in season 8 is like if Jon was never resurrected after his death in ADWD. Some people would for sure argue at nauseum it´s realistic and sometimes the possible heroes ends this way, but most would still feel cheated. I never expected Dany to win the IT or even survive, but I did expext her story to have some purpose. And the same is true for Jon.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

Well, if it really ends as the leaks hints I´m not sure how will anyone ever be able to rewatch the show. Most of the main plots have turned pointless. Why watch Dany grow and go through her mistakes for 7 seasons, when it´s all turned to ash in the last three episodes? Why watch all the episode dealing with NK and behind the wall stuff, when it´s over in an episode? Especially the latter seasons are mostly build around either Jon and his fights or Dany and her dragons, most of else is just filler. But those are exactly the moments which will never have the same feel again. There is a very thin line between making the story daring and unpredictable and fully destroying it. We just saw it with the last Star Wars and I´m afraid it´s happening again live with GoT. It´s exactly how Emilia said. The lasting taste will not be good and there is no episode 9 to save the day.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

Except that guy said this info isn´t direct from his brother, just a hearsay from someone else who apparently worked on the scene. So even this is still wonky and it could very well be one from the fake endings.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

If everybody is angry at Dany and she loses all her allies she wouldn´t need to be stabbed, just imprisoned. She is not even a rightfull queen and most of her army is already gone. It just seems very against Jon´s character that he would just murder her in coldblood even if she does go crazy. She still helped to save the Winterfell and the world, she definitely deserves some mercy. And the scene sounds so melodramatic, exactly how I would imagine a fake ending to be. Besides, this would also mean Tyrion betrays Dany, not the Starks. So it goes against what Friki said.

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

The only leak I still believe is true is the Tyrion´s betrayal, simply because D&D love Peter and they will want to give him something in those last three episodes. He had zero part in the main conflict so far, even admitted it himself, and if he just stays Dany´s loyal hand till the end, he will continue be useless. And it even works for the character because Tyrion was clearly sidelined by Jon and he no longer is the ringmaster puppeteering Dany around. It´s clear he is not happy. Jon killing Dany would be shocking, but I have no idea how they could do that and still keep him as a likeable character. Just this episode Dany risked her life (again) to save him, even after she just discovered he is a threat to her claim. And she sacrificed most of her forces to protect the North and defeat the NK. As for now, she is the hero of the story and turning her into a villain who deserves to be slain by a hero in three episodes is IMO impossible. What worst she can do? Burn KL and all Cersei´s forces? Would Jon truly be against that, especially if it´s probably the only way left to defeat Cersei now, when most of Dany´s forces had been decimated?

Season 8: News, Spoilers And Leaks

Except there was his mysterious talk with Bran we don´t know anything about. That and his knowing looks whenever he sees the growing tension between Dany and Jon makes it very likely he already knows about Jon´s true heritage and may start to change his aliance towards him. As we saw last season D&D loves to keep the key moments offscreen to fool the audience. So I expect they will do something similar this year.
  13. Except there is nothing left to discuss. Dany wants a Seven Kingdom which includes the North. Jon agreed with that when he kneeled. The independence is no longer on the table. Sansa and Dany should have a heavy conversations about taxation and representation and how the kingdom should work after the war, not this Northxit nonsense. Especially, when North is this close to be destroyed and will need a lot of help and support from the rest of the kingdom to rebuild.

    SPOILERS: Rant and Rave

It´s amazing how this show now uses every soap writing cliché available. We have the classic "I don´t want to die a virgin" moment, we have filler scenes with people mostly recapping the plot, and we have fake misunderstandings and forced tension between main couple. Ever since they started to cut back to that fireplace meeting again and again, I knew they will have Dany/Jon as the last scene of the episode. And of course, even that moment is mostly just a condensed version of the story so far, but is interupted just before the meaty part, because it´s really the only conflict left and D&D knows both Dany/Jon haters AND lovers are waiting to see what way it resolves. And that´s why we most likely will not know until atleast episode 4, or more likely 5, when they will finally have the talk they should have now. Anyway, am I the only one who thinks Dany is already pregnant? Not only she seemed to have something like a small bump in the crypt scene, but the way they showed her mysteriously teary-eyed before Jorah entered her room earlier had to have a purpose. Of course, with the soapy writing and Jon fully ignoring her the whole episode I half expected she will ask Jorah to "warm" her before the night is over. I also wonder why they had to make Aria so smug all the time. I know it´s supposed to be part of their flirting banter, but if it was young lord acting this way and basically ordering his servant girl to "serve" him, everybody would cringe.

    dany and sansa

If Dany was allowed to act as a real person the tension would be over in a minute. All she had to do was tell Sansa 'ok, you don´t want me here, fine. I don´t want to be here either. But without us working together everybody here is fucked so you better be thankful Jon was able to convince me to go to this bloody cold hell and risk my armies and my precious dragon´s life to help you.' Unfortunatelly, ever since Dany and Tyrion got together she is not allowed to express anything except smirks in the background because Tyrion is the star of the show and he needs atleast something to do. So she just sat there as idiot and let everybody to hurl insults at her. As for Sansa, I have no idea what´s her plan. It´s like because she knows Dany and Jon are in love Dany will not leave no matter what so she can atleast make her stay as unpleasable as possible. But she has no alternative. No secret hidden army to use. It´s either Dany and her dragons or walking dead North. Btw. that´s also true for Jon. It´s understanable Sam would prefer his best friend Jon to be the king, but Jon has nothing to offer. So pushing him to go against Dany makes zero sense.
