  1. Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself.

I was introduced to the books via the TV series (and have since gorged myself on them) and was made aware of the site due to Thronecast. Had to join the forum as I thoroughly love some of the weird and wonderful theories.

When not spending an unhealthy amount of hours reading a Wiki of Ice and Fire I'm either in the shed brewing paint thinner that vaguely passes for beer or as you might have guessed from the username reading Cornwell's Saxon Stories.

    Right, I'm off to explore.

    Hello Guys,

My name is Dobromir (Dobry for short). I am 20 years old, from Bulgaria, currently working and studying in Sofia.

My friends call me WhiteCrow, or most common Bambi.

I love playing games. Computer and Board games.

At the moment I am more interested in D&D 5 coming out and Everquest 4.0

Hello, I'm also new here. I read the books after starting the TV series, I've caught up with them all this year.

My favourite characters are Sansa and Daenerys and I hope to see other fans of theirs around the forums.

    Welcome, newcomers!

And it's always nice to see fellow gamers and Sansa fans. So are fans of Bernard Cornwell. =o)

  2. Charles Dance is in that great fire of London thing. Could he be the British Alan Dale, aka, actor who crops up in everything?

He might just be. Yes. Imagine his range of parts. He pulls off every role which adds to the credibility.

    From vicar to android.

    That's why I like him.

    "Peter Drunklage" was hilarious.

  3. Hello Lords and Ladies of Westeros,

I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself to the community. I am Lord Tony of House Stark (combining two of my favorite things). I started off as a fan of the show and after a few months of reading the books, I finally finished last week. I am now stuck in a limbo with nothing new to read or watch, so naturally my mind begins to wander and this forum has introduced me to some excellent theories and key details I missed on my first read through. Looking forward to learning more and eventually posting my own theories (which are still in development).

    Winter is Coming

Lord Tony of House Stark First of his name King of the Andals and the First Men Lord Regent and Protector of the Realm The Iron Man Builder of Suits and Father of Technology (fill in the damn titles)

Welcome to the boards, Tony!

  4. Thank you for the warm welcome you guys! :D

Honeyed chicken: thank you for taking such an interest in my post! :D My name is something I came up with by myself. It's not based on anything :) I'm a fantasy fan, I like elves and fairies and whatnot, and I wanted an Elvish name to go by on the internet :P After a while of pondering and writing things down I came up with this ^^ inspiration isn't something that just comes to you, its comes from work ^^

The TTTNE thread sounds fun, is it a thread where you can post anything fun, or post about your life? :)

Yesss Littlefinger is fascinating!!! I hope GRRM won't kill him for a longgg time. I also read everything about Littlefinger carefully. He will probably be even more important later on than he is now. He's so smart and plans everything eerily well. He seems to know very well whom he can trust and whom he can't trust. For example, he trusted the queen of thorns in cooporating with him in killing Joffrey. She could've betrayed him, he would've been executed and she could possibly have received a huge financial reward, but still he knew he could trust her. On the other hand, he had Dontos killed immediately after he delivered Sansa beceause he knew he couldn't trust him. His intelligence and cunning never cease to amaze me!

Hmm, well, I just really don't like Arya... I've disliked her from the beginning. She was very uninteresting to me, a cliche'd, unconvincing tomboy. She also doesn't have much of a personality to speak of besides a touch of psychopathy... but she's not an interesting psychopath such as Aerys, Joffrey or Walder Frey. I also personally think her death prayer storyline is kind of lame. But what I perhaps dislike most is her storyline. She's just not getting ANYWHERE. It's the same everytime, she's almost here or there, is almost going to meet her family and then... nope. Happened so many times it really started to annoy me. It also annoys me that she constantly bites her lip. ''She chewed her lip'' Yeah, NOW we know! Her chapters are a lot of wandering around and I read them with very little attention, so sometimes I miss stuff... I did carefully read the part about her meeting Edric Dayne, and for a while I was utterly convinced that HE was Aegon (VI) Targaryen. But now that I've read ADWD, I'm not sure what to think...

I have always greatly preferred Sansa over Arya! I know many people hate her but I've liked her from the beginning and never started disliking her. She's just so human to me and a decent, believable person. I can really relate to her. Just like Sansa, I have also made choices I regret, and I have also trusted certain people I regret. Sansa is also very willing to admit to her mistakes and tries to learn, something I can also relate to as well. She's also a strong character and tried to survive as best as she could while she was in King's Landing.

Oh I love Daenerys and I fully agree with your statements about her! Such a strong character, still so young, but trying her hardest to learn and be a good queen! And indeed, lot of self sacrifice! She faces a lot of difficult situations, the harpy, the Yunkai'i, her dragons growing wild... I doubt anyone could've made better choices for those situations, and she's still not arrogant, she reviews everything carefully even after she's made a choice.

I'm very interested to hear about your favorite and least favorite characters!

Actually surfing in Europe is easy and quite common! :) I have personally surfed a lot in France; in the atlantic ocean. Very good waves there. It is also possible to surf in Portugal and a small part of Spain. It is also quite well possible to surf in my home country the Netherlands at the west coast! Surf camps at the Dutch west coast attract a lot of German tourists. I've heard it's also possible to surf at the north coast of the Netherlands. I suppose it's also possible to surf in the UK and the west coast of Norway!

Mostly digital gaming but I am also very fond of board and table games! =) Haha coincidentally I ordered 2 new tablegames today....

Ohhh nice! I love baking and it's great to see other people's creations!!! I'll go have a look!

Oh btw, perhaps we should take it to PM from here :P otherwise we'll be spamming the thread haha

I'd also like to welcome you to TTTNE. =o) Read a bit - also in the old threads. That might help.

  5. Hey, Kikajon!

    Hey Kikajon!

I've been seeing you around for a while now, so I don't think of you as a noob. Any friend of forum games is a friend of mine! :)

:agree: My friend HC put it best. =o)

  6. I've been posting for a couple months but I never did an introduction. Been an avid reader, rereader of this series since book 1. Been lurking the forums for years. The tapatalk app has been wonderful in helping me participate being on the go most of the time. You can find me in the book sections almost daily now. I love throwing in my 2 cents when I think useful.

Welcome, Narvi, to the boards!

Welcome, Narvi. I've been waiting for an opportunity to welcome someone before K_T or HC for a while now, so yay!

Enjoy your experience posting in General while it lasts.

    Heh. You did it.

  7. Hi everyone!

My name's Dan, i'm Scottish and study Civil Engineering in Edinburgh. I'm a massive GoT fan. I have to be honest I have not read the books (yet) but i'm a massive fan of the show. It's easily my favourite show. My fav characters are Barristan Selmy, Jorah Mormont, Bronn and Margaery Tyrell.

I also collect autographs from the show and have quite a few which can be seen here: http://dans-autographs.jimdo.com/game-of-thrones-1/

A couple of days ago I met Jack Gleeson after going to see his show at the Edinburgh Fringe and he is one of the most nicest people I've met. Really nice to talk to and was chatting away to everyone. He was really happy to have a photo with me and he even signed a few photos for me before shaking my hand and saying goodbye. Great guy!

Welcome to the boards, ScottishDan!

  8. Hello everyone

    Welcome, Dragelsnart!

Looking back at the last few posts and thinking friends... tch, wish I knew what real friends were.

Anyway, a more positive note, hello!

I'm 20 years old and from a small city in England and currently studying Law at the University of Manchester.. and it's astonishing how many people automatically assume I'm very smart, the common reaction being 'Ooh look at you, doing Law!' It's not all honour and glory though, I keep having existential crises!

Anyway, I enjoy anime, manga (I'm still a noob though) and reading in general more than anything, and writing fan fiction although that is currently on hold. I don't get as much time to read anymore and after putting ASOIAF off for so long because a friend said I might find it confusing at first, I'm so absorbed into the series that I can't even remember the last book I read before the series..

That being said I've finished all the books, it took me about two weeks to read them all and I enjoyed them immensely.. one of the best series I've read in a long time and completely different to anything I've ever read. While fantasy is a common genre most books usually revolve around a main character and a set of sub-characters with a main aim by the end but here there are a series of POVs with no real 'ending' in sight which makes it unique to say the least.

Also the strange thing is I have no ships at all, I usually ship someone or the other :P

My favourite characters are Jon Snow, Tyrion and Samwell Tarly. Dany was one but not too sure now...

TV series, halfway through season one and my favourite scene so far is the one with Sam and Jon in it talking about girls, Sam is like 'You didn't know where to put it did you?' Then discussion about bastards and then a moment and silence and... 'You really didn't know where to put it, did you?' Good God that cracked me right up xD Tv sam is even funnier than book sam but I love both.

Right, I've rambled on too much so if you have any questions for me or wanna talk to me or w.e go ahead cause I don't bite.. unless you're made out of cake ;) Also can someone kindly tell me if there is a writers' sub forum round here as I'd love to showcase some fan fiction. I have a lovely little idea for a GoT FF.

Well here's to hoping I meet some lovely people round here :)

    Valar Morghulis!

    Valar Dohaeris!

    Welcome to the boards.

  9. Hello everyone I met at LonCon and everyone I didn't. I'm Dave and I'm Malt's brother. Apparently I already had an account here although I have no posts and no idea why I was signed up before.

    Welcome, Denvek!
