  1. Shrugs. Fair enough. But I still personally found him a bit tame, despite the few great lines which you so kindly quoted.
  2. When I heard that line I thought to myself "Finally! Now,this is the Hound I know." You're right, he was out of character in the first two seasons. They needed to do more to make him scare and tease Sansa.... instead he was a puppy. In his quick s.3 appearance, he seemed pissed, and that, to me, was just awesome.
  3. I agree 100%, I don't think they've done a good job at all in making Robb or Cat likable. Robb drives me absolutely nuts in the show, he isn't at all how I imagined him in the books. Cat I didn't like in the books... whenever I got to one of her chapters I'd always groan. But all the same, the TV show takes too many liberties on Cat and Robb's storylines. I can't wait to watch them both die, simply because every time one of their scenes come on, I feel oddly embarrassed... and kinda annoyed.
  4. Good episode. The Cat scene was absolutely brutal and unnecessary. Tyrion and Shae I could've done without too.... I wish Osha would take Rickon away... otherwise what's Davos going to do later when he leaves White Harbor? Loved how angry the Hound looked... can't wait for what comes next for him!
  5. Long time lurker to this site, and finally decided to register and submit a post! Apart from a few scenes, I was disappointed by this episode. I'm not quite sure what it is about the show that bothers me so much, but it really does (that doesn't keep me from watching it though). I don't get why they introduced Dontos in S2 and then ignored him after that. The scenes with LF always seem to me to be so obvious and scream: "Hey, viewer! This guy is a snake! Look what a snake he is!" When I read the books he was so very enigmatic and his scattered scenes throughout the series only made me enjoy him that much more. I suppose that's hard to replicate on screen, when you don't have the advantage of specific character POVs. Dontos on the dock (or just go to the bloody Godswood at night!) with Sansa would've been so great. Non-readers would've asked "Who the hell is this?" Why deny them the surprise of having LF on the boat? It was great in the books, it'd be great on TV too. Can't stand Ros... she drives me nuts. I resent that she's been given such a huge role in the show, especially when you're leaving out characters like the Reeds. I know, I know, they're coming this season, but that isn't the point. In the books the Reeds were so integral to Bran's character development! Ros is just an annoying set of boobs and has a confident swagger about her that I resent (because she's not in the books). No Fist, but everyone's commenting about that, and rightly so. That was just... poorly mishandled. I suppose budget had something to do with that. I imagined Mance to be grittier and to have a bit more of an edgy swagger to him than he did on the show. The scene between he and Jon was all right, but I didn't feel that sense of, "Ohh, the King Beyond the Wall! Here he is!" that I got when reading. I think it's due to the guy they have playing Jon. He always has that stupid dullard look on his face and I find that all of his scenes lack emotion or intensity. The scene with Tywin and Tyrion of course was great. And Davos is awesome. They cast all of those roles splendidly! I thought Jaime would be in this episode as his is the first POV chapter in SOS, but it only means he'll show up next episode, so not a big deal. I think the biggest peeve I have with the show is that it leaves nothing to the imagination. In the books you're constantly guessing, whether that be plot direction or character motives. The TV show lays it all out for you, eg, that Davos and Stannis reunion scene. Davos just could've gone to a cell like in the books, leaving viewers to wonder wtf is going on with Stannis, letting you anticipate the moment when they finally do speak again. Ah, I don't mean to sound so negative about it. I just greatly favour the books and I really resent any deviations from it.
