thistlepong
Kinda just that. I ran across " a shadow of light" to contrast and obliterate a shadow of darkness in Phantastes: A Faerie Romance for Men and Women (1858) by George MacDonald and it struck me that I hadn't seen it often. In particular, I can't remember an older instance of the image. Anyone know of more recent or more venerable uses of the image, if not the specific words?
