TheKingoftheSevenKingdoms
I was introduced to the books through the series. By the time episode 3 of season 1 aired I was just starting AGOT. By the time epsiode 4 aired I'd already finished it. The books were that good. I think one has to accept that the series is never going to be a 100% faithful adaptation - season 1 in my view is the closest to its corresponding book in terms of the execution of the storytelling. I'm definitely watching the series on its own merits - they have made some interesting detours - some of which enhance the story, others of which don't. It's not a perfect adaptation, but it's better than 95%+ of other TV series in my opinion. :agree:  Hundred Percent
Grayven
I think the show has the opportunity to fix a lot of the problems of the books in this section of the story. A lot of character tightening and quicker plot advancement is definitely a good thing, and I trust their decisions on who is important, and who isn't, since they know the ending.
