Joe The Andal
Hi,Im new to this forum after having seen it on thronecast a few days ago.Im sure this is a topic which has been reviewed countless times, but i have UK first editions, Hardback, of all books published by HarperCollins Voyager, not BCA, as so many for sale are these days, (poorer quality and often marked).I Just wanted to know whether these editions are the most valuable, over the general consensus??Thanks Guys. The_Wolfbrother
Most valued of all editions would be the special limiteted edition made by Meisha Merlin and Subterranean Press. A lettered set recently sold for 15.000$, while numbered sets go for 5000$.The UK 1st is rarer then the US silverfoil 1st.
Joe The Andal
How do you get those? arent they reserved and pre-ordered so long in advance? and arent they only available in the states?
The_Wolfbrother
You can buy sets with future rights on ebay and other places on the interwebs. But yes, buying directly from the publisher is a no go, as the owner of the last publsihed book in the series, holds the rights to the next published book. It's limited to 52 lettered and 448 numbered books, making these very rare and hard to get. Thus the most expensive edition.
midnightrider
Hey Jeor92, You can get the set at Camelot books for $5,000. It does not include Meisha Merlin AGoT but you can find a stray and add it to the set. You will get the future rights to all the Subterranean books including the rerealse of AGoT and ACoK. You will also get the Meisha Merlin ACok. It is your best bet at this point.
