[TV SPOILERS] Question about Jeor

So I haven't read the books, I am caught up on the show though. I was reading a review online for the latest episode And Now His Watch is Ended, and

it said that Jeor Mormont, who got killed this episode, is the father of Jorah (Dany's advisor and guard). I don't remember this being discussed in the show so I thought it spoiled something for me. Like there would be a big reveal soon after with Jorah finding out and BOOM we find out that Jeor was his dad. But then I started looking into it and found this scene:

So long story short, Jeor says Jorah is his son. My question is: did that scene happen in the show (if so, what season/episode) or was it a DVD bonus scene that I never saw? If it did happen in the show then I must have just not connected the dots in my head.

Yes it happened on the show. It's not just you though. I've seen many people that also didn't "connect the dots" and was shocked when I told them. They didn't have a clue. It wasn't stated directly in the show.

Well, right after the scene where Joer explains that his son dishonored the family they cut to Jorah. They both have the same last name, simluar first names and come from Bear Island. It's pretty clear, but sometimes you have to watch it more than once to catch all that.

its not particularly key to the plot, so i think its fine if they just put the signs in there and let the viewer connect the dots, I only read the books after season 1 and i think i worked it out by watching the tv show
