Narco
Hello everyone, I always wondered about one quote of the first book, at the end of the first Catelyn chapter, when Ned says : "It will be good to see the children. The youngest was still sucking at the Lannister woman's teat the last time I saw him. He must be, what, five by now ?" "Prince Tommen is seven", she told him. I thought the last time Ned met Robert was during the Greyjoy's rebellion, 9 years before A Game of Thrones. If Tommen is 7 at this point, when could Ned possibly meet him ? Thanks for your time. Well, there is no event known exactly, but Robert liked to travel around (visit castles, be part of tourney etc.). It's possible he wasn't there when Ned saw Cersei. We do get a mention from Catelyn that she had last seen Lysa 5 years ago. Lysa had lived in KL with her husband for the bigger part of her 15 years of marriage. It's possible that Ned and Cat once visited KL when Robert wasn't there. The five years that Catelyn mentions would align with Tommer still being breastfed (he would have been about 2 years old).
