Dragon Seed
We've seen, heard of, and anticipate more to come, dead people being resurrected (ie. Cat Stark/Lady Stoneheart) albeit not their former selves. Is there an end time for them or do they continue living forever? And what purpose are they after the dust settles and a new king sits the IT long term?
Swordofthemornin
I think all the Undead characters will leave the world at the conclusion of the story, just as I predict Magic as a whole disappears again.
OnlyOne
Magic was never gone in the first place. Quiet maybe. The undead tend to be undead until you burn them or use obsidian blades on them and...who knows what else.
Martin's Ghost
I always imagined that zombies and other undead have a finite existance but that it is long enough for mankind to be eradicated. In any case it has very seldom been important to any story, ASOIAF included, to measure the life span of a single undead. Perhaps this issue will be answered in the last books?
