Simba, how do you feel on Starlin?

I'll explain why I'm keeping my vote on him in a bit more detail; I'd thought we still had to avoid this kind of meta-discussion even with revealed alts, but I guess I was wrong. To be clear, this was my reasoning when I first voted for him.

I remember Malc as someone with a surprising insight, who is often able to pick up the tiniest clue early on and turn it into a case with both legitimacy and reasonable accuracy. Out of anyone here, he's the one who I'd expect to be finding points that turned us from the RP-and-role-distribution-and-odd-even-rule phase into the legitimate voting phase. I usually end up disagreeing with his clues, but that's not the point.

So seeing him toss out the fluffiest of fluff during that phase raised major alarm bells.

Malc is definitely a very insightful player, but I've learned to not expect much from him on day 1. He usually doesn't get going until later.

Reading back over his posts, the one thing that stands out to me is his response to my question toward Mina, followed by his inaccurate assessment of how I play when innocent/evil. But those are just minor things, and right now he's only in the middle of my suspect list.

Also, I hereby revoke any reads I've made up to this point, because they're all horribly wrong and everyone in Spoiler Heaven is making fun of me. Maybe if I change my mind often enough, I can point to all the times in which I was coincidentally right as proof of my accuracy.

Simba is only an easy target if you are a new player :P I just think he was very obvious at the time and people (old and new) were getting on him for a valid suspicion

I take it you mean if I was scum, not if you were.

Not going to lie. I probably would buddy up to you were I scum, or at least not attack you (although in my, um, "defence," it would be more because you haven't done anything particularly scummy than to get on your good side). Maybe I might not have outright defended you as much, or would have turned on you later in the game were I short on lynch options.

But anyway, I mainly stepped in because you were starting to look increasingly obvtown to me, and Edward was legitimately calling you scummy for something that was obviously a null tell for you. I was the only one in the position to prove it.

Wait, did you ever explain why you think Stalin is scum? Particularly when the last time you played with Malc, you also led his lynch on D1 when he was innocent.

I'm pretty null on Ernst Blofeld at the moment. The catch Simba pointed out flew over my head, TBH.

He voted for me in post 105. When I asked for reasoning/evidence, he cited post 107, our conversation in posts 111, 116, and 125, and my vote for Sooty in post 127. All of that evidence came after his vote. Seems as if he voted first, and then constructed his reasoning afterward, when he was asked to justify his vote.

But did I just go crazy by spending too much time on mafiascum? Don't people here at least SOMETIMES make comments like "I feel on gut that Greyjoy is obviously innocent"? I've seen WJ give gut reads all the time.

There's a difference between saying that you have a gut feeling about a player, and confidently saying that a player is innocent (or probably innocent). Especially when that proclamation of innocence is on day 1.

But even when somebody just describes it as a gut feeling, I'm usually still going to ask them to try to explain it. That seems out of the ordinary to you? Really? If so, then I guess you don't remember our games very well.

Answer this, Mina - do you think people should explain their suspicions? If they fail to do so, do you think somebody should call them on it and ask for an explanation? If not, then why not?

2) He's not one of my top suspects, and I'm not planning on voting for him today. I like how he's not afraid to share a contrary opinion, regardless of who he's talking to. Doesn't seem like he's trying to kiss up to anybody.

That said, I still don't understand his reluctance to post the logic behind his conclusions. From my perspective, that approach doesn't help us at all. It's strange, if not outright suspicious.

Well, it's one of posts which make me wanting to lynch Joseph Starlin from day 1.

I know it's been years since I saw you guys play - I don't think the games were in the 30s yet the last time I played - and people change, but your day one behavior hasn't seemed quite right to me. Yeah, we throw shit at each other and see what sticks. But you aren't throwing shit. You're throwing Advanced Fecal Substitute - even less substance than the real thing.

First, your vote on me just because of your 'read' or 'vibes', which is within bounds for a first day post - but doesn't really mean anything. It doesn't push me to respond because it doesn't raise any issues.

But then, at a complete newbie, who has posted essentially nothing, just saying "What can you say in your defense" - that is nothing. That is just giving the appearance of joining in the mudslinging. Find some content - or invent it! - to prod someone about and that actually can provoke discussion.

And now, you come at Simba again - who has, unlike Dragon at the time you prodded him, posted some things of relevance - with a non-problem.

I'm going through the thread and quoting posts that I want to comment on, and so far the only one I've been saving are Stalin's. I was just about the multi quote them all when I came across this post and it brings up pretty much everything that bothers me about Malc's posts. I guess at this point I can only say 'ditto'. One post that wasn't brought up was where Malc said 'he is the same when evil and inno, just like me'. I thought it was unusually self-serving.

I really don't get why Puff is obviously town. Unless I missed it, he's had like two posts at this point not saying much except for an opportunistic vote on Starlin (I keep wanting to add Darlin' after that). I see that Igor is not big on explaining, but this one baffles me. +1 for Simba for calling this out, although to be fair, I think most people would have called him out if they'd been around.
