has anybody else reaiized how the main characters that fall in this book do so because of women they love:

Starks:
- Catelyn convinces Ned to accept to be hand of the king, which proves to be a mistake as Ned knew from the beginning.
- Catelyn creates problems for the Starks when capturing Tyrion:
. She doesnt have the power to take him safe to Winterfell. Just taking him to the eagle's nest was not a easy task and put in danger her own security
. Most importantly, doing that equaled to a declaration of war against the Lannister. Ned was not even aware of that so was taken by surprise
. Even then Ned could have prevailed... but Sansa informs Cersei of his plans, putting him again in a bad situation

Drogo/Daenerys:
- Going against of the traditions of the Dothraki and the opinion of the whole Khal, Dany convinced Drogo to be treated for his small injury by Mirri Maz Duur, who kills him (and his son and his horse) in the worst way

CHERCHER LA FEMME: French expression that dates from the XIX Century, that means that a woman is generally the origin of all evils and the hidden inspiration of all wrongs. If anything bad or even dramatic happens, it is certain that a woman must be involved, when not the direct cause, and all one needs to do is find the woman to understand the origin of all evils.

If you are a man then why are you surprised by this? Thus was it ever so /crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':crying:' />

But seriously nobody told Drogo to be an idiot and take the dressing off and Catelyn was right - given the (deliberately misleading) information given to her by Littlefinger.

hmm you're actually right but I don't think there was anything else Ned could do. Even if he'd say no to the king, the king WOULD make him go with him either way. And with Drogo, how else could he be treated? The witch was the only one that could treat the wound if I am correct.

Don't forget how Robert Baratheon started a war over Lyanna, never let her go which pissed his living wife who then murdered him.

Now I'm trying to think if a female character had a downfall over someone they loved. Hmm.. Oh yeah.. Sansa!

Littlefinger is the bitch that started that whole thing with Tyrion and Catelyn.
For Dany she was just trying to help since she made the mistake of actually falling in love with Drogo.
