Melisandre sees Bloodraven in the flames? other way about?

Jojen: the other Other white meat, tinged with green...

I don't think GRRM just makes characters POV when we lose someone else at a particular location, since there is plenty that goes on in all parts of the world that we don't have a POV character. Its just not his style. Mel's chapter was huge - it really opens the door into understanding what motivates her, and the fact that she is guessing and taking risks with her visions. Way more sympathetic after reading her POV, and way more nuanced a view of the Red God faction. We haven't seen much of Bran and BR's development yet, but from what we've seen, it does feel like there is a little more caution written into BR's teachings around reading into visions that he sees through the trees. While we have a Florent reading flames with complete abandon, at least we can now see that Mel has doubts about her visions. She acts boldly, however, but at least she is aware that she doesn't know exactly what she is doing. Hopefully Bran is taught the same thing, and learns awareness as he develops his powers.

Who says he has to be a bad guy? Maybe he and Bran watched shitloads of history through the weirwoods and decided that humanity wasn't worth saving, because of all the brutality that's going on all the time? Kinda like the Faceless Men, who genuinely believe that death is more peaceful than life. From their POV, they're the total good guys.

Form own PoV, everyone is a good guy. Nobody believes that what he does is wrong, if he did he would not do it because the definition of wrong is... something wrong. Even Hitler believed he was doing good. Those who are convinced they were doing bad things are suffering from massive depressions and often go as far as suicide. Nobody wants to be bad, some just do something others consider bad. This is not that kind of "good guys" mindchap was talking about.

As for the pork, the men CH kills are the ones who have mutinied at Craster's, which started when they pointed out that he had a pig on the way in but it was gone when they came back through.

They mutinied several months, if not half a year or more, before Coldhands catches up to them. Regardless, pork is not red when cooked.

Melisandre needs a lesson from Syrio, that is, to see with your eyes. The images in the flames are accurate but she sees with her heart, interpreting them wrongly. She sees a girl fleeing a marriage, she has heard of a forced marriage between Arya Stark and Ramsay Bolton, it must be that the girl is Arya. Well, she got the first letter in the name right. Bloodraven lives in the dark, so he's automatically antithetical to the Lord of Light.

Guru meditation wiped out a huge post just now,

the gist of it was that big name mages can likely see each other on their radar because they're sweeping the land for major concentrations of magic, and i wondered if the 1000 red eyes were actually the wights surrounding Raven's cave and not his animal spies like is usually assumed, because the wights would be smaller magical foci.

something was also said about other stuff... .......oh yeah:

people who are scared of children (and the prospect of parenting) will be more likely to imagine all the ways kids can go wrong, so they'll focus more on Bran eating Jojen paste, whereas those who are already parents spend only a few minutes late at night considering such possibilities but put the majority of their efforts into nudging the kids in the right direction (away from a Jojen paste scenario). So if Raven is any kind of decent parent (which I believe he is) then these Jojen paste concerns evaporate quickly and one can refocus on the enemies surrounding Bran & Raven.

Also, regarding Light a Wight's message, it was well said, but I don't know if Mel needs to stop seeing with her heart or if she needs to continue until she gets it right. Maybe the world needs someone to save it with plenty of heart to oppose the cold and heartless. She just needs to get her heart in the right place. (And not necessarily for a Nissa-related heart sacrifice!) (Although.....)

You might want to reread that part it is only a few days not months. If it had been months Gilly's baby would have been walking by the time they get to the Black Gate.
