  1. He's an actor. He would have earned far more for that scene than any extra on any movie. He had lines. He had to act. The unsullied standing guard in the throne room are extras. They don't speak. They don't act. They don't get paid as much.
  2. I thought the child bones scene was very well done, not least because of the actor playing the distraught father. He was so convincing. Brought it all home.
  3. Her power struggle with Marge, arrest and walk of shame should make her one of the stars of season 5. Lena will nail it. Have no idea what D&D will do with Sanza. Bound to cause a serious shitstorm on ere!
  4. Totally agree. Feast must be a bitch to adapt as soooo little happens. It's all travelogue and internal monologue. Very little character development or overall plot development. I hope we see some radical changes, especially for Brienne and Sanza. It's a terrible book.
  5. Nothing happened? Joffrey was poisoned, Tyrion falsely accused of murder, his own father put him trial, people he thought of as friends desserted him or testified against him at the trial, the woman he loved turned against him, Oberyn had died for him, his brother unexpectedly rescued him. A lot happened. It's perfectly logical that he decided to confront his father. Tywin knew he was innocent yet was prepared to execute Tyrion. Tyrion wasn't being rational at the time. He was about to go into exile. Something snapped. It wasn't done as well as in the books but it was still compelling tv if you have an open mind and aren't looking to nitpick.
  6. Those complaining about D&D should pause and imagine a Michael Bay or Damien Lindelof version of GoT. Shudder.
  7. You think a two hour movie is going to be closer to the books than a 55 or 56 hour tv adaptation? My poor deluded little Robin. Make the bad men at HBO fly.
  8. Absolutely barking. It's clearly an adaptation. Most of the major plot points, events and characters are the same. If you find it so sad to watch then the answer is obvious. Stop watching it.
  9. I assume we can both agree that you can't just film the books, page for page, so what would you be cutting out and changing to make the story fit into 10 50 minute episodes?
  10. Because the show would have to run for about a hundred seasons.
  11. This is just a list of nitpicks. So what if Jojen is dead? He's a minor character. Likewise Pyp and Grenn. Mace? Who cares? He's pretty irrelevant so far. Might come into his own in future seasons. D&D don't have 20 years and ten million words to tell the story on tv. They have to pare it down to it's essence. You also don't seem able to differentiate between the forms of tv and literature. How does the show communicate Varys 'everlasting unknown presence.' i think it makes sense to give the character more to do rather than him just disappearing from our screens for a year. Jaime has no motive to free his little brother? What are you on dude. They love each other. Your list reads like a fundamentalist book fan who just wants EVERYTHING to be exactly like GRRM wrote it. Who cares if Thorne wasn't at castle Black in the books? It worked well in the show. Fake Arya will appear next season I'd have thought.
  12. Look at where we are plot wise 1) Arya sailing to Bravvos 2) The Hound left to die 3) Tyrion kills Tywin and heads for Pentos 4) Stannis is at the wall. mance is his prisoner. 5) Dany is in Meereen and locking up her dragons. 6) Cersei is asserting her power as Queen Regent. Qyburn is experimenting on people. 7) Sansa is leaving the Eyrie with LF. 8) Theon and the Boltons are taking up residence in Winterfell. 9) Brienne and Pod are looking for the Starks. 10) Tommen is going to marry marge. These are the same beats as the books. Ok so there have been some changes to individual journeys but this is clearly an adaptation of GRRMs books rather than fanfic. I think you are nitpicking.
  13. The trigger was to confront his father but I agree his motivation was better drawn in the books.
  14. Like what? This season has had a few flaws (Yara's raid springs to mind) but overall it's been fantastic.
