Jeor Posted April 19, 2008 Share Posted April 19, 2008 They'll be pleased, although they wouldn't have wanted the match to be so one-sided. Still, they got complete and total fireworks in the first innings which was exactly what the competition needed to start it off. The worst outcome for the IPL would have been a low scoring, tame affair where sides were chasing 130 or something. The IPL matches start just past midnight for me here in Sydney...grrr. Well, since it was a Friday, last night I did stay up to watch the whole match up until about 3am. Not sure if I'll be making a habit of it, depends on who's playing. The Australians as a whole didn't do too well - White and Noffke got smashed around, and none of the Aussies scored except maybe Ponting with a run-a-ball 20 - but I'm not that surprised seeing as we're well behind the Twenty20 experience stakes when it comes to other nations like the English or India (although I think White has played for his county).
