  1. A lot of people seem to justify bad writing in the same way you do which is basically "It's a fantasy show so it doesn't have to make sense." Any good story, be it fantasy or not, has to be self-consistent. This doesn't mean that all the laws of our universe have to apply. This means that the fictional universe you create must have some laws of its own which are established relatively early in the story. If they are broken, then it's just bad storytelling. I have no problem with dragons, tree people, wargs and people who can change their faces because the existence of magic and magical creatures was established in the very beginning of the story. Even the revivals are self-consistent in the World of Ice and Fire. But when it comes to Arya, she's just a normal human being. She has no magical self-healing skills, therefore her jumping and running when she should be dead without any consistent explanation is simply bad writing and the fact that GoT is a fantasy show is completely irrelevant.
  2. 3/10. Definitely the worst GoT episode ever. The whole writing was just abysmal. Nothing made any sense whatsoever. I thought episode 1 was bad, but this one reaches a whole new level of sucking. Riverrun- I don't get it why they even bothered to introduce this plot. All of it just seems pointless. BF's suicide was just plain stupid. Brienne and Pod sneaking out of the castle seemed completely unnecessary. Jaime still talking about his love for Cersei makes me cringe. The Hound and the BwB: Those scenes (except for the butthole "joke" ofc) were the only OK part of the episode. Nothing special there, but ok. Meeren: It was just painful to watch it. One of the worst attempts at comedy I have ever seen. Dany's arrival was so predictable and why did she let Drogon fly away? King's Landing: Tommen seems to be trying very hard to get himself declared an abomination. Braavos: Arya's scenes were the worst part of the episode. This also makes me regret rating last week's episode 6/10. Logic took a serious hit there and I don't want to offend anyone, but whoever liked those scenes has to be at least a bit retarded. She gets stabbed 4 times in the abdomen and after some good sleep, she can run and jump like a ninja. Did she gain Naruto's powers while she was sleeping? The whole chase scene was so bad and frustrating it made me want to throw something at my TV. And just when I thought this couldn't get any worse, Arya goes to the House of Black and White to face Jaqen, knowing that he was the one who sent the Waif after her and that she stood no chance if it came to a fight when she could've stayed hidden until she found a way to escape. The fact that he just lets her go after she tells him she's Arya Stark and he even seems pleased to hear that is pure nonsense. After this episode, I'm joining the "I hate D$D" club. A monkey could have done a better job than them. If I had to rate only the writing, I'd give it a -∞.
  3. 8/10. Overall, the episode was pretty good. The Kingsmoot was the weakest part. Euron confesses that he killed his brother and everybody is like "well done, you should be our new King". He doesn't even have the dragon horn which would give him a good leverage when dealing with Dany. The Iron Fleet just doesn't seem enough to convince her to marry Euron. And the part with Theon and Yara stealing the whole fleet... Why in the world would the captains of the ships obey them when they were the ones who chose Euron as their King? Those scenes just make no sense at all. I see a lot of comments about LF's teleportation and I think those critics are unfair as the scenes involving different characters in the same episode are not necessarily chronological. When LF departed the Vale, Sansa could've been on her way to the Wall. And even if we assume that LF had only 2 weeks to go from the Vale to the Wall, it is still theoretically possible for him to have done so. He had to cover ~120 miles/day on horse. If he and his retinue used multiple horses and didn't make camp anywhere, they could've made it. In the 13th century, Mongol messengers could easily cover distances like those. I really liked the play and Arya's reaction (Maisie's acting was excellent). We can clearly see that she is not no one and probably never will. I think her story will start moving forward pretty soon. The best parts of the episode were obviously the last 20 minutes. The part with the Children throwing grenades at the wights instead of trying to kill the Others using obsidian was pretty dumb, but the rest of the attack on the cave was just amazing. Summer's death seemed unnecessary, but a wolf's first instinct is to attack, not to run away. The whole Hold the Door thing was sad and heartbreaking, but well-done in every aspect. The show hasn't done something this good since the Red Wedding. I think this is going to be similar in the books too. About Bran's time-travel, I think that as long as it doesn't break the Novikov self-consistency principle, it won't make the story too complex.
