If she was reading the original then wouldn't the wee beasties start eating her flesh? I think Sam would keep the infested copies away from the baby and her.

It seems a bit strange to me that no-one noticed that Jons armor was frozen solid on that boat at the end. So ice cannot kill him in the same way fire cannot kill Dany. That, and the addition (courtesy of the NK) of an Ice Dragon. It is a Song of Ice and Fire, after all...

It would be remiss to not send a shout out to the sysops for having this site up and usable within two days of the episode airing! . .

Seems to be a lot of debate over a simple training exercise, which is all that Arya asked for. She has had little training in all out war, Brienne arguably much more. He first lesson showed Brienne what she is good at, and what she is not. That would be the only purpose served, and the only conclusion they would care about.

Having Bron protect him from the fire strongly suggest to me that Jamie will not be killed in that particular sequence. Otherwise leave Bron out of it and he is burnt to a crisp by the Dragon.

Well, let's back off and be a little honest here: Frodo could turn invisible on A's butt and make his job a hundred times harder. Arya could fight B blindfolded and show her a few things (both of them blindfolded). She didn't need it but always had that in reserve.

Sure, but he also has no idea (so far) who his parents are. Certainly such an elaborate subterfuge would necessitate a Lot of other dancing around the truth. He needs to stick to swordplay and military strategy and avoid Rumours about any *cough, cough* Targaryans.

I have a mostly insupportable theory about that. Since Westeros has Ravens and all kinds of different magic (a lot of which we probably haven't seen) they have many ways of communicating across great distances. Surely every major character has spies and or Allies already in place all over Westeros. If they get the message to their stand-in and stand-in takes the place of so-and-so it's just as good as so-and-so being there while so-and- so is not actually there. But for the purpose of entertainment and exposition replacing stand-in with so-and-so makes expoditious sense instead of explaining All the Above. (Hopefully I made a little bit of sense there)

Plus, Sam has lots of experiences the other "learned" cannot claim. (And a child to protect, apparently his own) He is using all this to his advantage.

K Harrington explain what his character was thinking there. Jon had only heard wild rumors about this woman and had absolutely no idea what he was about to see. That it was a young woman his own age and attractive was simply a total shock to him.

That sounds good to me. I think Arya needs to have a talk with Sansa. Oh! And Bran.
