  1. I should reread these passages to be fresh before answering you. But from what I gather from your and @Nittanian's comments, there is a debate whether these events concern one or several Lord Staunton. Yeah, it is possible to have several Lords Staunton with such close set of dates. I don't know how to prove it one way or the other, however. Do you want to create up to 4 Lords Staunton at that time ? I think the disclaimer idea and a little edit of the current article is the easier and more practical answer here.
  2. @direpupy If not, @Abjiklam has been consistent with creating coat of arms for the wiki. I'm guessing he will create one for Randor and the other missing personal arms in the future.
  3. @The Wondering Wolf I don't really know how the clans structure works as well. Apparently the Flints of Flint's Finger and Widow's Watch come from Flints younger son that left the mountains and settled elsewhere. Billy Burley fits that mould, and perhaps simply left the north to find a stable job in the riverlands. It is not like we haven't seen "long lost cousin" of noble descent with very low status (more or less indistinguishable from regular smallfolk if it wasn't for their noble name) in the story before: Podrick Payne, Brown Ben Plumm, Lothor Brune, Eddison Tollett, Nimble Dick Crabb, ...
  4. I think the reservation are due to the fact that he would be a Northmen from the mountain clans in service to a Riverlands House. This is not impossible of course, but rather unusual.
  5. @Isobel Harper Lothar is wrong here. This error has been listed in the errata.
  6. Do they ? Or is it more a Randyll Tarly thing ? We have Lady Ellyn Caron as a counter argument. It still seems weird to me Gyldayn did not mentioned Alan Tarly at the end of the war when we know 1) Alan was a Hightower hostage and 2) Samantha Tarly was instrumental in Lyonel Hightower accepting Corlys Velaryon' offer of peace.
  7. You're right, my bad. OK. If Alan came after Donald, I'm guessing they are father-son since Donald's daughters did not succeeded him.
  8. I have a question concerning the Tarlys around the Dance of the Dragons. We have two lords (Alan Tarly and Donald Tarly) but we don't know their relation. Donald is only mentioned once : Donald's wiki article states that he ruled during the reign of King Viserys I but this quote doesn't established that fact. The past tenses is used in the entire book as it is an historical book, not to say that Donald is deceased by the end of the Dance (tough it is possible). We know Alan ruled House Tarly during the first part of the Dance of the Dragons and was captured in the Battle of the Honeywine. We don't hear about him after that point. If we go by Blood of Dragons information (not canon), Alan died in captivity in 130 AC. In that scenario, it is possible for Donald to ruled after him and not before, right ?
  9. Yes I understand, I was just wondering that's all. We don't have any hair color description for House Redfort either (except for Horton's grey hair due to his age) but red hair is probably a good guess.
  10. Jon Connington does not know where Robert was the whole time, he just assumes Robert was moved from place to place under his nose because of his inaptitude to find him. Kevan Lannister describes young Jon as proud and seeking glory. Jon was furious that he failed to find Robert and convince himself the smallfolk must have been involved to justify the failure that really hurt his pride. Middle-aged Jon learned his lesson after his talk with Myles Toyne, he won't do the same mistake again in the future.. but I expect this new more Tywin-like Jon will do other mistakes instead. As far as Stoney Sept having one or several brothels. Come on, we are talking about a walled town not an isolate village. Stoney Sept was chosen as a rally point by Aegon I for his armies before marching to the Field of Fire and there was a chapter of the Faith Militant with hundreds of Warrior Sons in the town. Clearly Stoney Sept is a big town, do you really think the Peach is the only brothel ? Plus Jon says Robert hid in "a brothel" not "the brothel".
  11. In what way ? Because both agree that Robert spent time in a Stoney Sept’s brothel.
  12. When Targaryen have kids with brown/black haired spouses their children almost always take after the spouse coloring (Maekar is the exception as he has all the Targaryen looks despite having a Martell mother). So for Aemma I prefer her to be blond over brown which better explains why Rhaenyra maintain all the Targaryen looks of Viserys I. Plus Aemma's mother was Targaryen herself so at the very least Aemma should have a mix of brown and silver (like Valarr).
  13. @The Dragon Demands I don't know but seeing a brown haired Jeyne Arryn makes me wonder: do we have a classic look for the Arryns ? Do they even have one ? Because Harrold Hardyng (blue eyes, blond hair, and aquiline nose) apparently looks like a young Jon Arryn, and Robert Arryn has brown hair. The aquiline nose works well with the Arryn falcon but I don't know if I prefer blond hair over brown or the other way around.
  14. @The Wondering Wolf brings out a good point that while we should respect what Gyldayn writes in Fire & Blood, we should also remain practical in our title naming and choose a title that will resonate for with people when they search for this event in the wiki. Hence I propose: "Succession struggle following Dalton Greyjoy's death" and "Joffrey Arryn's ascension war".
  15. @The Dragon Demands The problem is that Gyldayn doesn't give a name for this conflict in Fire & Blood. The wiki page should be the closest possible to the words used in the text hence the word "struggle" is used by @Nittanian. Similarly, does Gyldayn give a name for the succession crisis in the Vale after Lady Jeyne Arryn's death (134-136 AC) ?
  16. In Arya sample chapter for TWOW (Mercy), there is a character called "Big Brusco", a mummer in Izembaro's troup. The wiki has merged this character with Brusco, a fishmonger. I think those are two different characters and should have different wiki articles. Do you agree ?
  17. @Lord Varys I added Alyssa's cousins. Manly Stokeworth : was "Manly" really his name or maybe just a nickname ?
  18. @Lord Varys The family tree already takes into account Alyssa's brothers. As for her cousins, like you mentioned we don't know to which degree they are related, so we can't say for sure if Aethan and Corlys had other brother(s). Though I agree first cousins are more likely given that they were forced to come to the wedding and pay homage to Maegor. Until we know more, I wouldn't change the family tree. We lack other information concerning the relations of the Velaryons of this era: Valaena: Was she the sister of the first Daemon ? Lianna and Larissa: Both of them are said to be Rhaena Targaryen's cousins but only Lianna is said to be the niece of the second Daemon. Therefore Lianna was the daughter of one of Alyssa and second Daemon's unknown brother(s). Was Larissa a niece to the second Daemon too ? We know the second Daemon had at least four daughters, maybe Larissa was one of them ? Corwyn: Was he Corlys's father ?
  19. There is a growing number of Houses we know hardly anything (heraldry, the region they are from, ...). If given the occassion, it would be nice to clarify those information because in the wiki we have tendance to create a minor House everytime some random Westerosi knight has a surname. The recent casting of Criston Cole for House of the Dragon has shed some light on the situation as George himself presents the character as being common-born and not a minor noble as we previously thought. I know book canon and show canon are two different things but if the information comes from George, it adds some considerable weight for it to be true in the books as well.
  20. @Ran I was wondering if Lyonel Bentley's name might not have a typo and he was actually a member of House Bettley instead.
  21. Should the wiki have an article for the Great Code of Septon Barth and the Books of Law ? Or should it rather be mentioned in the "Laws and justice of the Seven Kingdoms" article ? Also how do you interpret this passage ? I interpret it as the "Books of Law" is a collection of books made by Jaehaerys and his "smaller council". Each book concerns a topic of law different and the "Great Code" is one of/the biggest book of the collection (possibly the most important one). Do you guys agree ?
  22. @zionius Is it this one you were thinking about ? https://georgerrmartin.com/notablog/2009/10/21/the-big-man-and-the-redhead/
  23. @Rhaenys_Targaryen I have fixed the issues @Old Valyria brought up. That's why you can't see them any more.
  24. No I don't remember what I was thinking at the time. I see @direpupy has already fixed it so I don't have to.
