  1. I was thinking a 9 since they did my boy Stannis wrong but then gave it a 10 for Bronn needing twenty bad pussies
  2. I'd love some sources on this statement.
  3. Rather than go through and say "lol" to each long complainer post, I'll just say that I think people are crazy for wanting to see Grey Wind get slowly killed by a bunch of guys right on screen. No amount of throat ripping would make up for watching Robb's pet get peppered with crossbow bolts and then closed in on. That's not something an audience wants to see. I thought it was a mercy that they did it the way they did. To each their own though.
  4. Roose wasn't running away from her, he was stepping out of the way of the oncoming rain of crossbow bolts that he knew was coming.
  5. My favorite thing about the GoT television series each week aside from the episodes is reading what you have to say about them. Til next week!
  6. I actually think this episode needed more nudity, come on HBO. The Mel scene should have been another ten minutes before she tied him up.
  7. I gave it a 10, would have given it an 11 if Melisandre rode on Gendry for 5 more minutes.
  8. I haven't seen Ran in here bashing every little thing about the show like usual. I wonder why. :dunno: I find it delicious that the worst episode of the season was penned by GRRM, it makes this weeks forum discussion so bogus.
  9. Larry Williams, a non-reader who reviews the episodes on Otaku Assemble had to say about Theon this week that he doesn't understand why Theon is in the season if nothing is happening to him except him being tortured. It's sort of funny that he picked up on that, because Theon isn't in the third book, and these scenes technically don't need to be happening.
  10. Easy 10, I'm watching Game of Thrones.
  11. I gave it a 10, as always I'd give it an extra few digits if I could for the rage it's inspired from a few people on here.
  12. I believe the note to Robb did say that Bran and Rickon are dead, he was simply withholding the information from his mother to spare her more grief, and will tell her the truth of the note in a future episode. I could be wrong, though.
  13. I'd give it a 10, both for being an awesome episode and for the reaction its getting out of people on these boards. Most hilarious way to spend a Monday morning.
  14. Really hope about 85% of this forum stops watching the show next season, it pains me to see people torture themselves with something they don't enjoy. There are better ways to spend your time.
  15. She didn't go with him because she was convinced the city had been sacked, and Shae told her that Stannis wouldn't hurt her. The Hound is scary and drunk and talks to her about his love of killing in an earlier episode.
  16. It might just be me, but I feel like Roose gives Talisa/Jeyne a knowing look every time he passes her when Robb can't see his face.
  17. My only complaint about the series is how radically it has changed my perception of this forum and the members on it. I can't believe how many 'experts' are complaining about things that were explained right on the show. "Wahh, wahh, Catelyn has no reason to free Jaime without hearing of Bran and Rickon." Did you people even watch the episode? Get the definition of adaptation tattooed on the back of your hands so you can read it while you type.
  18. Emilia Clarke can do whatever she wants with Daenerys. I'm too in love with her to turn back now.
  19. Um... because he never set her free, he just chose not to kill her. I'm not sure why you're having so much trouble with this; he didn't make the choice he did in the novels of letting her go. He couldn't bring himself to kill her, but wasn't about to let her escape, either. Does that concept really need an essay-length post asking why?
  20. I'm curious why only one person was sneaking the dragons to the House of the Undying, especially if it's Doreah, considering Daenerys' entire khalasaar was murdered to get them.
  21. What did the letter say that Arya took? Also, unless Jaqen took it back, wouldn't Tywin know that Arya took it?
  22. I loved this episode so much. Really great. Might end up going down as one of my favorites of the entire series when all is said and done. Here are my only three nitpicks: 1) I love Peter's Tyrion and his scenes are always among the episodes best. But I wouldn't have minded seeing one other story arc instead of so much Tyrion. 2) Alfie's Theon plaed into the slap a bit strong. He, like, flew across the room as if the Incredible Hulk had struck him. But his father is a scary guy, and maybe just is -that- strong. 3) The ending shot of the bull helmet was a bit anti-climatic after seeing the kid run off with it five minutes earlier and then die. That kid doesn't exactly look like a blacksmiths apprentice either, but nobody said the Lannister men-at-arms were smart.
  23. I thought this episode was one of the shows weakest, if not the weakest -- yet I still enjoyed it very much. I am going to randomly list my observations and pros and cons. Things I liked: 1) Character performances -- Lena and Peter continue to steal the shows best scenes, but I also thought basically the entire cast had a great episode. The Greyjoy's were all great, as well as the Night's Watch, the King's Road crew, Varys and many more. 2) Stannis & Dragonstone crew -- I am far less worried about Shireen and Selyse than others here, nor am I finding Stannis to be any less bad-ass and stern. The sex scene was handled fine. He gave in to a beautiful naked sorceress, as any warm-blooded male would. I don't know how Stannis' morals are being judged when we know he is days away from having his brother murdered, which is one of the greatest sins on the Westeros morality scale. Plus, he scarcely seemed to even be enjoying the seduction. Just watch how he kisses her and those noises he makes. It was all incredibly awkward, as it should have been. Side note: Davos' scene was just perfect. 3) Giving Joffrey and Robb a break -- Thank you! It's time to slow things down whenever possible. 4) Ghost -- Enough said. 5) Varys -- I so loved his exchange with Tyrion. I like that the show is making threats more blatant, even if it makes the characters seem a bit more dim. The way Varys held the door shut with a finger after Tyrion used his whole hand was awesome. Plus they kept in the great ocean/fish/paddling analogy. He recognizes that Tyrion is a bigger threat than anyone else in King's Landing, so he is making it known that he is the top dog. 6) Arya's scene was pure gold. Gendry looks different to me than he did in the forge, and it keeps distracting me. Maybe it is the lack of sweat and smithy outfit, or maybe the actor has grown up a bit. I still loved everything about this scene, including Jaqen. Things I didn't like: 1) How the writers handled the Yara/Theon exchange -- In the books she is clearly messing with him, moving his hands away and finally after revealing herself making him very embarassed. On the show, a lot of non-book readers are going to think she is really creepy and incestous. While Alfie's facial expression conveyed his disgust perfectly afterwards, I do think maybe a line or two could have been added to make Yara seem just a bit less gross. I love the way she looks though -- gritty and tomboyish, with a sex appeal underneath it all. The idea of a perfect 10/10 beauty queen swinging two axes around and winning the loyalty of barbarians always seemed fake to me. This woman is one who looks like she has killed. 2) Cutting from a ship sex scene to a brothel sex scene -- Really bizarre choice of editing here. Didn't work at all for me. I also found the Littlefinger spying to be a bit confusing and unnecessary. I hate thinking, "Are the non-readers going to be thinking this random nobleman is important?" Otherwise, I did like Littlefinger's creepiness and scariness. The scene was a bit long but I liked showing what a sociopath he is. 3) The Red Waste of Time -- Poor Daenerys and Jorah really have nothing to do for a while. Not the writers faults, but if we don't need to see Robb sitting in the woods, we don't need to see Daenerys sitting in the sand. More swearing vengeance, promising blood, blah blah. 4) Jon getting bonked by Crastor -- I'm not sure why this isn't sitting well with me, as I don't mind the other changes involved in this story line. Or maybe I just hate cliffhangers. I like Jon giving in to his emotions and charging into the woods with his sword drawn. I need to see what happens, obviously, but I do think Ghost should be around... -- Also, I continue to be unbothered by character development changes and things like Bronn over Bywater. This is a separate entitiy from the novelization.
  24. I gave it a nine, which is about as high as I go. The dragons blew me away. The first season of a new television show does not usually get CGI like that, even on HBO. I was really, really impressed.
