  1. My guess is Loras won't join the KG after all. Seems unimportant when the KG as an entity plays an almost insignificant part in the tv show.
  2. Sounds good but unlikely to happen. Maybe if they had more than ten episodes a season... Really, GoT should be using 26 episode seasons instead of ten. HBO should spend big on the series.
  3. Really? He's 43. Mance can be played by anyone in the 40-50 range in my opinion. Dominic West would have made the perfect Mance Raydar, but he'd also be great in any other role on GoT. hopefully they try to get him for another role later on.
  4. Burn Gorman apparently showed up in this episode since his name was in the credits (I didn't notice him at all, I'll have to rewatch). It seems odd to me that he's playing a glorified extra in the night's watch when he's a well established actor. Anyone have any ideas who his character might possibly be if he has one?
  5. Ramsay is just going to mess with him all season basically.
  6. They dumbed Theon's arc down last season. This season his arc is entirely new as he wasn't even around in the books. So I'm not sure how you can say it was dumbed down, unless you are including the previous season. I'm not a fan of the Theon scenes this season, but that's largely because they are predictable and as book readers we all know what's going to happen in the end anyway. So it's wasting valuable screentime that could be used for actual scenes from the book.
  7. I agree, but the writers really had no choice since they didn't have Harwin. Sandor was the next best thing to make the BwB realize who they had. It would have been ridiculous for Arya to burst out at Sandor on the tv show the same way in the book, because 1) that would have exposed her and 2) she's older than she is from the books so you can expect her to be a little bit more sensible/mature.
  8. Yes but you know its bad when fans can predict exactly what will happen a year before it happens. Come on.
  9. I liked this episode. I found it interesting that they combined Tom o' Sevens and Thoros, and they resolved the problem of Arya not being recognized without Harwin by having the Hound appear early. Only thing I didn't like is that it appears they are actually going to use that ridiculous storyline of Ramsay pretending to be on Theon's side and pretending to free him, only to bring him back to torture him later. Are GoT's writers that lazy that they have to take ridiculous speculation from this forum to use for story? Next thing we know, they'll actually use the silly Talisa replacing Jeyne Poole idea.
  10. HoU scene didn't bother me since I know they're making major changes to the story anyway. I suspect book loyalists will completely tune out the show next season. Littlefinger approaching Sansa at the end. So I guess Dontos will be written out of the show? He serves no point now that Sansa knows Littlefinger's intentions. I guess they could show him helping her escape next season, but it would be really jarring to non-book readers who probably wouldn't remember him. I like the namedropping of Wex, it's too bad he's not a real character on the show so he'll never actually appear. He was Dareon'd.
  11. IMO they should not have even bothered to cast the Reeds next season. I feel like they have bowed too much to fan pressure when they need to focus on tightening existing storylines and adapting for tv better.
  12. That was my first thought but then i rewatched that scene and the fellow looked like he was wearing armor completely different from a kingsguard's. But I could be wrong. I figured they would have changed it because it would be confusing to non-book watchers, since there was no build up to a possible betrayal.
  13. I loved every second of this episode. You could really tell GRRM wrote it, not just from the awesome dialogue and scenes, but also the little things, like all of the characters brought back that probably would have been cut by other writers (we saw both Mandon and Boros, although it looks like they used a Stannis soldier instead of Mandon to cut Tyrion down, unless I'm mistaken). I also liked the use of lots of unnamed characters playing roles. Who was that head archer? Or the guy who accompanied Sandor in the beginning? They probably have names or match with minor characters in George's mind, it's a pity we'll never know who they really were. Awesome episode all around.
  14. Does anyone else think that they changed her name from Jeyne to Talisa just so they could bring back Jeyne Poole in a future season? Then again even I don't think that storyline will appear, so who knows *shrugs*. Maybe D&D just hated the name Jeyne. I think they originally wanted her to be a Lannister but changed their minds. I don't think they're setting her up to be a spy.
  15. People need to get over the weasel soup thing. They've changed nearly every other scene from the book, why would they have expected that to be retained? The overall story is the same so far, but how they get there is different, and we need to accept that.
  16. Yeeeaah I'm pretty sure if Joffrey wanted his mother dead, he'd have his way easily. He may be a cruel twit but he's not about to go having his family executed even if they don't treat him with the utmost respect.
  17. I agree with this. There's no sense in having him executed now, especially when we were never introduced to the other Lannisters that Karstark's men murders. I doubt Richard Karstark will show up again on the show, he'll be Greatjon'd off.
  18. I agree with this. There's no sense in having him executed now, especially when we were never introduced to the other Lannisters that Karstark's men murders. I doubt Richard Karstark will show up again on the show, he'll be Greatjon'd off.
  19. I'm really surprised that they chose to have Sansa's flowering scene - particularly because she's supposed to be a lot older than she is from the books. Are they counting on viewers to be completely ignorant to women's reproduction cycles?
  20. The only thing that disappointed me about this episode is that Amory Lorch won't be fed to bears. Are the brave companions even going to be introduced? I wonder what will happen to Rorge and Biter later on, or if Jaime gets to keep his hand.
  21. I wish the Qartheen characters had foreign accents, but they didn't, so that was a bit jarring. I also liked that Xaro is now from the summer isles, to keep with the lore.
  22. I like the way they condensed a sizeable chunk of the Arya arc into that one last scene. It essentially saved them a lot of filler time.
  23. I don't see why anyone cares that Rakharo died. He barely plays a role in the series as a whole and his character/role is easily expendable/replaceable. Sallador Saan being black only bugs me because the only reason he's black is because the series was overdue for some ethnic diversity. So he's the token black guy. Personally I still think they should have just had Jalabhar Xho appearing in the background.
