Hi folks, new poster here! Watched HBO 'Game of Thrones' at the urging of a co-worker, loved it, read the 5 ASOIAF books back-to-back-to-back...you get it in an 8 week period! Loved them all and can't wait for Winds... Not a huge fantasy guy, ASOIAF and LOTR my only 2 series of this genre. The length of story, volume of characters and interweaving storylines did remind me of one of my favorite series, Lonesome Dove, although the genre and writing style are much different.
