Can't wait to re-watch the episode later today with my sister who missed it. A few more thoughts: I've seen people mentioning a difference in the actor who plays Loras. I've seen two: first, he's gained weight from last season. I'd say at least 10-15 lbs. Second, in season 1 Loras was cocky (no pun intended, lol) and confident in every scene he's in. Here we first see him after being defeated by Brienne and then when his King is being questioned by Cat and after his King is dead. Very different circumstances. Anyone else notice how brilliant the lighting was in this episode? Particularly on Tyrion's face? There were at least two shots of him that were just amazing. The best episodes this season did not come from B&W and I hope they realize that. I totally get the need to change some things for the sake of translating these large books to screen but there's too many instances this season of characters' personalities jumping around because of lazy writing (Cersei was the worst) and leaving out little things that would not have cost money, mean a lot to book readers, and really do add to the story because GRRM knows what he's doing (in example: Renly's peach offering to Stannis.) At times, it seems like they were locked in a room with a clock ticking and told to write several episodes before poisonous gas was released; which led them to not have the time or care to think through the long-range consequences of some of the changes. In relation to the above point, I wonder if any of the actors get any input on their scenes? It was well noted that during the filming of LotR, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, Christopher Lee, and others carried around well-worn copies of the book and would push for certain lines or moments to be included. This overall love for the book and collaboration between all involved help make it a very successful translation that, for me at least, included nearly all of the little moments that touched me as a reader. I would imagine on GoT the pace and schedule might be even more hectic than a movie set so maybe that wouldn't be possible but it could help retain more of GRRM's small touches that we all love.
