Landed Knight

Landed Knight (6/8)

  1. I only enjoyed the casting of the Freys and the parlay between Ser Jaime and Lord Bolton. Otherwise, it was just BS wasted time, when they could have told the story of the Knight of the Laughing Tree and moved other things forward based upon the source material. I guess Tyrion now has motive for the Purple Wedding. But, otherwise, it was one-on-one dialogs telling things that shouldn't be said. Reek, reek, it rhymes with weak episode.
  2. Let me clarify. It was the scene with Gendry I was disappointed with. The scene with Beric and Thoros was very good.
  3. Did anyone transcribe the lyrics to Shireen's Patchface song? Any mention of fool's blood, king's blood, blood on a maiden's thigh?
  4. Also, that duel b/w Beric and Sandor was unreal. Made all other duels a joke so far.
  5. They've made Arya a little soft and Maise had a little trouble with the material. Beric was awesome. Jaime and Brienne was great. I even liked Selyse, but where's the stache. And, that Patchface song at the end sung by Shereen was erie.
  6. I was despondent last week with all of the made up scenes that overwrote good scenes. This episode was great. Loved the Bastard building trust with Theon and drawing it out. That's going to be terrific. Thapphireth!
  7. Way too much made up stuff when they have too much material to adapt that they're ignoring. Hated the episode.
  8. I don't necessarily think it means death for Ser Barristan. He was the only second tier or higher character left alive inside Mereen. Someone had to tell the story inside the gates, the escape of the dragons, etc. I think he could easily be reunited with a first tier character and then no longer be needed as a narrator. If he's with Dany or Tyrion he doesn't need his own voice. Who needs Damphair? Victarion may not been needed soon either or he may die. Or perhaps Arienne once she meets up with Connington.
  9. The Rains of Castamere was awesome and even moreso in the credits. Tyrion alluding to a wedding being the worst thing in life. Terrific. Varys talking about being cut and the dark arts. Nice touch. Everyone was pitch perfect- Tyrion, Cersei, Bronn, Sandor, Sansa, Stannis, Davos and no BS in the other parts of Westeros and Essos despite the credits map. Totally blown away.
  10. Significantly better than the previous two. Finally hitting its stride. Kept to a few storylines, not scattered all over to make everyone feel a part. I like that Dany has been sidelined b/c her chapters were not very big in CoK IMO for movement of her plot. I like that Robb is only mentioned and not shown. I like that the Kinglsayer is spoken of and not shown. I like that they stuck to some key conversations from the book. Tyrion's plot to test the council was well paced for TV. Yoren was outstanding. Even the added scenes were strong and didn't seem out of character, unlike last week with Stannis and Littlefinger. Very pleased. A 9.
  11. Didn't like Shae in the Tower of the Hand. Didn't like it at all. Also didn't like Craster's Keep. I always thought of it a a scene out of the Odyssey, very surreal and absurd. I think Terry Gilliam would be the perfect director for Craster's scenes, including those in SoS, which take the absurdity to a much more surreal level.
