  1. It seems like Qyburn all ready has some influence over her, he and Pycelle hate each other, so maybe he has had an effect on how she views Pycelle.
  2. I gave it an eight. Joffreys death was the highlight of the episode. I think they should have set up the Sansa/Ser Dontos storyline a little bit better. I thought it was odd that Brienne never spoke to Sansa. I would have liked it if we had gotten the reveal about the Valyrian dagger as well. I'd have preferred it if Stannis had killed Lord Florent for the same reason as he did in the book. I liked Oberyns thinly veiled threat to Lord Tywin. I thought Tywin should have called Joffrey out on some of his actions, his staying quiet seemed out of character. In the books, the wedding sort of rehabilatated Renlys image, he was Marges husband, and publicly mocking him would have been beyond the pale. I could nitpick all day long but it was a solid episode overall despite some of the shortcomings.
  3. And to further your point real, broadswords are really sharp, meant to kill people, and replicas are not.
  4. I thought the tavern scene was much better than the brothel scene with Oberyn, I had some small problems with it but it helped nudge the episode up to a 7. Oberyn was too over the top, I'd have liked it if they had eased into things a little bit more with him. Still overall they got more things right than wrong.
  5. I think that is what she is planning. She says thats she was going around Westeros and sailing up the Narrow Sea to the Weeping Water. So shes attacking from the East where it will be least expected. So it seems like she is thinking about something along those lines. And of course she indicated that she is bringing her best fighters.
  6. I agree that if you keep recent real world history in mind that it seems racist or at least condescending. So if you can throw that out the door and realise this world has nothing to do with the real world I guess there is nothing wrong with it on that level. Still it was still the worst scene in the episode by far, dragged my rating down from an 8 to a 7.
  7. What was interesting is that Yara indicated that she would sail around Westeros and up the Narrow Sea in order to sneak up on the Dreadfort from the East. This would signifigantly alter her storyline from the book and perhaps preclude her participation in the Kingsmoot. As far as the rest of the episode goes. Danys scene was kind of crappy. Arya and the Hound pairing continues to be entertaining. Jon and Ygritte felt a little off. Kings Landing and Dragonstone were OK. Bran and Sams stuff seemed the best stuff of the episode. I like how Aemon chaged the wording of his letter from the book. A man of his expereince would probakly know not to adress the letter in a way that could be found insulting. Does this mean that Edd and Grenn are dead? Sam and Jon are the only survivors so far to make it back. Gave the episode a 7.
  8. I'd have to say that Danys storyline kind of seemed a little confused. The fight scene was decent but they cut away when her guys looked like they were going to be slaughtered and did not do a good job in explaining how they survived and ended up winning the day. Would have liked to see Dany and Barristan conversing similar to the way they did in the book while waiting for the outcome. I suppose they will have other oppurtunities to do this going forward. I'm sort of up in the air about the RW show version. One thing that never made sense in either the book or the TV version is how Robb did not know about Bolton capturing and releasing Jaimie. The whole garrison of Harrenhal knew Jaimie had been there, it was not a secret. Overall there were to many clues in the books, things that should have put Robb and his people on their guards There are a lot fewer holes in the TV version, its more beleivable that Robb fell into this trap but it did lack some of the subtlties of the book. I gave the episode an 8, would have been higher but Danys stuff was weak. I want to add that I agree with Snookson. Robb was in shock and was trying to die with honor on his feet like the fellow at Queenscrown. His wife was dead, his kid was dead, he was dead and he just wanted to get on with it.
  9. It was funny, people in the books actually mistook them for Father and daughter/son. They always seemed like a good team in the books with a lot of underlying emotions that really were never really explored.
  10. Lets see. I did not care for the Cersei/Marge scene. I think they should have pushed this scene to episode 10 and it might have worked a little better. We can not see why Dany would sleep with Dario in the books, not going to be an issue in the show. Barristan and Mormont should be sacked for letting him sneak into camp and getting that close to the Khalessi. They should have had the dragons eat the heads. I thought it would only be the hardcore Sansanistas who would have a problem with the kneel. I thought it was appropiate that she did kneel in terms of what has happened in the show. Tyrion came to her beforehand has been respectful of her and promised not to abuse her. Why should she humiliate him for the amusement of Joffrey who deliberately took his step up? I gave it a 7, which is good score from me.
  11. I think Tyrion giving her that chain of gold foreshadows some future events next season. " Hands of gold are always cold but a womans hands are warm." I also think that a certian singer will end up being stewed.
  12. I gave it a 7. I like the way Robbs story has been going the past couple of shows. Jons story has been picking up to the past couple of weeks as well. I do not think that filming in Iceland is really working out and that has been hurting Jons arc so its good that they are out of there. The Gendry and Mel scene was good as was Ser Jaimie and Breinnes. Nothing else really stood out and the good stuff did not stand out that much but there was really nothing bad.
  13. Well at least we won't be hearing anymore complaints about Ros anymore. The Tyrion and Cersei scene was OK. The dinner scene with Jaimie and Bolton fell flat. Tywin and Ollenna could have been a good scene. The way he forced her to agree to the marriage seemed kind of lame. Aryas stuff was probaly the best stuff we got. Jons scenes were better than they have been. Gave it a 6.
  14. I think we can deduce that Loras does not have any older brothers, he might have younger ones who could step in if he has to step aside in order to join the Kingsguard but we do not know for sure either way.
  15. I gave it an 8. The general consensus seems to be that it was good episode with a few minor flaws. Most people seemed to have enjoyed the scenes with Marge in KL, I am one of those, it gives us some insights that we did not get in the book. The three gripes that keep coming up are Jons storyline, LF/Sansa and Rob/Cat. I can understand why they did not want to blow a lot of money with a fight scene at the Fist but Jons arc has been underwhelming so far and probaly will be til next season. They are making some changes with Sansas arc and I will reserve judgement til it plays out. I honestly do not have a problem with Robb and Cats arc, its different from the books but that is fine.
  16. The best theory that I have heard is that Euron captured the horn from Pyat Pree and the other wizards. It was Pyat and the three wizards, so the theory was that Pyat was going to sacrifice the three other wizards to get control of the dragons. Euron killed Pyat and iguess got the skinny on the horn from the other three surviving wizards. Him capturing the horn from the wizards makes more sense than him sailing to Valyria. The wizards having a dragon horn and knowing how to use seems plausible.
  17. I think Vic is a competent but unimaginative soldier. Most of his greatest sucsesses were won by following Eurons plans, Lannisport and the sea battle at the Sheilds. So hes not even that great as a commander just passable.
  18. I rated the episode a nine, I tend to like that they focus more time on developing the story than on action sequences. They did the best they could with the budget they had. Shifting between the battle and Cersei/Sansa kind of hurt the pace a little. Did Ser Illyn Payne deliberately let Sansa go, knowing Cersei wanted her murdered if the city fell? It was never clear in the book but it seems like he might have a heart after all.
  19. I think I'm in a very small minority of people who don't have a problem with the Jeyne?/Robb romance if it is put into the proper context, that she is one of the few bright spots in his dreary and bloodstained existance. I'm not exactly sure where they are going with things put I think Jeyne will become less wooden as the series progresses. By Jeyne I mean Talisha of course.
