  1. Ha! Very true, Rill. Just in interviews I get a sort of read between the lines feeling from him. Like maybe he wants to say more, but goes against it. But you're right, Hollywood isn't the place if you're too near and dear, and I'm sure he's enjoying his two homes directly across the street from each other :)
  2. Slow episode, but not every episode can be GREAT. This show sure does have a thing about rape.. first Drogo, now Jaime? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but in GoT, Drogo does not rape Dany.. at first she IS afraid of him, but then she allows it to happen. And Jaime. Ugh, ok, this topic has been discussed enough, you get the point. But I DO wonder what GRRM truly thinks of the show. The show runners go along with the general storyline, sure, but they also make a lot of significant changes. I know they have to change things for budget and timing, but other changes seem to happen for no reason (none that I can see anyways). One of GRRM's clauses should have been that DD should have involved him more in the script. I read on a website about his response and he seemed to kind of insinuate that he didn't know much about the controversial scene from this week's episode. Anyways, question. Has Stannis mentioned the Wall at ALL this season? Him finding out about the letter was one of the best scenes in the finale last season, and now I don't think he's brought it up at all. He might have and I didn't catch it, but so far all I've seen him do is have a nice dinner, then talk to Davos about Bravos.
  3. Loved EVERYTHING to do with the Dreadfort, first off. Glad to see my favorite villain (Roose) back in action, and seeing him and Ramsay interacting was amazing. And that was a fine bit of acting from Alfie when Ramsay told him about Robb :( Oh and Fat Walda... you KNOW Roose is riiiich! Bronn would be the next best replacement for Ser Ilyn, so I have no gripes about that. I have no words for the Stannis scene. And not in a good way. I do have to say I'm conflicted about the way the showrunners are handling the Tyrion-Shae conflict. Shae had no reason to betray Tyrion when the time comes, which makes it even more horrible. But now they've given her a reason, which I feel like would make it not as bad when she betrays him. But then after I thought about it, I thought maybe that might make sense? I don't know.. :dunno: Oh and it also brings up the interesting point of has Bronn been paid off already? Or did Shae somehow sneak her way off the ship?? Is Varys involved??? Loved the scene where Joff is presented with his gifts and proceeds to shred the daylights out of Tyrion's gift. Speaking of that part, I'm surprised they didn't put in the bit about him being used to Valyrian steel.. or have the show watchers and runners just completely forgotten about that small scene from season one? Loved Oberyn's chat with the Lannisters and how he flat out does not care that Ellaria is there, and flaunts her and all her bastardness in front of them. Overall, great episode! I'm rewatching again, because even though I saw where Olenna fussed with Sansa's necklace, I didn't see where any stones were removed. Oh and what was with that awkward, quick shot of the inside of the pie? And where any of the dwarves Penny? someone else here said that the one with the dog helmet was the only one we didn't see, but we did because it took off the helmet and started bucking up against it. Ugh. And I had to laugh at Renly "riding Loras" ugh Joff is such an asshole. On another hand, Jack Gleeson's wonderful acting will be missed. Oh and one last thing. With having Jaime and Brienne arrive in KL so early, I thought they would actually have Jaime idly stand by while Joff died. Jaime has said in the books that he shows no paternal instinct towards Joffrey and does not consider the kids his, only Cersei's. So that combined with what an asshole Joff was to him last week (about his hand, then insults him with the book), then, I can't remember at what specifically, but Joff was being Joff again, and they showed a clip of Jaime rolling his eyes or something at him. I just KNEW he was going to stand there and do nothing when Joff dies, so it was out of character for him to rush in. Regardless of if he's in the white cloaks or not, and I knew it would throw a wrench into his relationship with Cersei. HE changes their relationship by turning him down. He's on a path to redemption and the showrunners are leaving out sooo many of his redeeming qualities. So the Unsullied look at me like I'm crazy when I say I like Jaime (yes he tried to kill a child and nothing changes that, but his story is interesting!) or when I say I want Stannis to be King (because look at how they portray him on the show). Ok, back to the show!

How would you rate episode 310?

They weren't that great. But they turned her into a brat who threatened to burn everything, they completely created some bs storyline for her out of nowhere with Dragongate, then to top it off, they butchered the only awesome thing to happen to Dany that book: HotU. Though I did love seeing Jason Mamoa again, but really though, they only put in like two visions, and NONE of those happened (can't remember if the snow in the throne room happened or not, but I doubt it). But yeah, my main gripe abut Dany this season is her lack of a wardrobe. Blue tunic, in every single episode except for one, but then again a LOT of characters seemed be lacking in wardrobe. Dany was just the most noticeable to me.

Lol, well I remember that in the books she was on her Silver instead of crowd surfing. When she entered the crowd and disappeared for the briefest moment, I thought that someone was going to try an assassinate attempt (I think it was Mero who did it in the book, he was disguised.. but they already killed him off so I knew it wouldn't be him). I can definitely understand how people could think it was cheesy. Just, imho, they couldn't butcher Dany's storyline any worse than they did in Season 2. That was a royal fuck up.

Hello, Killer Snark I never said that it had anything to do with Dany. I just took note of two things: That ALL of the slaves were ethnic, and ALL of the Good Masters were white. I don't care if Dany was purple. Also, in the novels all the people native to Westeros are described as white, so of course the Lannisters, etc would be white. But the people of Essos were all so very diverse. Several times GRRM has mentioned them as tan, having almond shaped eyes, thick black hair, he described some of them as white also. But nowhere was it described as the GMs all being white and the slaves all ethnic. I totally see where you're coming from though. I don't know who you're talking to since you didn't address anyone by name or use the quote button, but again, I never said anything about Dany. See my reply to The Killer Snark above. When I replied to Patrick Stormborn, I even said in my original post about the subject that it doesn't really have much to do with Dany for me. I don't necessarily care for your percentages bit, but 100% of the slaves where ethnic, and 100% of the Good Masters were white (though I could say that Kraznys looks like he was a little something something, I'm unsure). We can all agree to disagree but that is simply my standpoint. I know everyone hates the last scene for their own reasoning. Minus my little nitpick, I don't see what else was wrong with it. I say give her her moment to shine. She will have the times ahead to completely fuck it all up until GRRM finally says otherwise.

This. I didn't even think of it until after I watched it a second time this morning. I spent the entire season complaining about the lack of diversity in Essos, because reading the books, GRRM described all kinds of people for the slaves AND the masters. It's not necessarily Dany being white and saving them, it's the fact that they are ALL ethnic. Not one white slave. Not one ethnic slave master (or good masters, whatever they are called). That scene when Dany tricks Kraznys, and all the good masters, and some upper class people (whoever the well dressed background characters were) who came to see the dragons were all white. I'm never one to sit there and point at stuff and shriek "THAT'S RACIST!".. but damn that has some racist tones to it.

Haha, so have I! Though I do not have much room to talk, because I just KNEW Talisa was a spy. Even after the RW, I was like "Well she could STILL be a spy, maybe they killed her because she fell in love with Robb, or got pregnant with his heir!" I was grasping onto straws. I only gave up when I read David Peterson (the linguist for the show) posted a translation of Talisa's letter she wrote after her romp with Robb. You can find it here: http://www.dothraki.com/2013/06/mhysa/ Anyways, yeah, S3 PW folks...

So I guess the shae scene was kind of warranted, because now Shae is under the assumption that Tyrion sent Varys to send her away. So I guess they are really giving her "reasons" to testify against him next season. Is there going to be a positive nitpick thread?

Same here. None of my Unsullied caught it. Then again, I also don't see how so many Unsullied have been missing all the clues leading up to the reveal! I also wish they would have just done the real Ramsay/Reek storyline justice.

I need a nitpick thread, so that I can unleash my fury (this ep can stand alone on its own, but not for a finale). Can someone get started on that, pretty please? :)

Shit yeah, the Blackfish escaped, Roose! And this won't be his only time escaping! I gave this ep an 8. If it were an ordinary ep, I would have given it a 9. But for a season finale, this was kind of lacking. And might I say, for a billionth time on here, how much I love the actor for Roose's voice?

So conflicted. If this were just any other ep I would have loved it! But I came to the table on an empty stomach and left still hungry. I wanted so much more for the finale. They did s1 and 2 finale's prefectly! This one was meh... Likes: Yara standing up for Theon and going to find him. The way this scene was filmed reminded me so much of the s1 finale when Jeor is giving his speech about going north and they show shots of the brothers getting ready. I liked the compassion she showed for her brother when their father dismissed him the way he did. The Roose and Walder bit was interesting. I'm sure there are other things, but this is all I can think of off the top of my mind. Why does everyone hates Dany so much all of a sudden? I don't get it. In the earlier eps, we were all nerdgasming over her now everyone seems to hate her. I'm the first to say she did not belong in the last ep, but I didn't see anything wrong with her claiming her moment this ep. She'll have plenty of eps to relay what a bad mistake it is to just hang around Slaver's Bay. This book isn't done quite yet! Seeing Varys doing something, even if it was a pointless convo with Shae the Funny Whore. Tywin shooting Joffrey daggers. That look he gives just says it all! Dislikes: I didn't care for the Robbwind scene. It was just too much, really unnerving. HATED the random Arya stabbing the Frey men. Because I'm still bitter about S2 killing off the men she was supposed to oh so sweetly kill this season. Was this the replacement? If so, it was a sorry one. The random girls giggling at Pod's appearance. ARE WE SERIOUSLY STILL ON THIS???! All the pointless convos. Tyrion and Cersei. Davos and Gendry. Yes I know that the convos lead to something, but they were boring to be in a finale. No. Lady. Stoneheart. What. The. Fuck. This would have fit in perfectly!! I even stuck around after credits, like how they do in movies sometimes. Disappointed, it would have been a real treat, especially for the Unsullied, who will apparently have to wait an entire year to see LS and get some inkling of consolation from the RW. There's def more, but like the rest of you, I will rewatch and rehash again! :)
