  1. True, I was being a bit technical... that's why I said "in an ideal world"... and this is a sullied forum, "technically" ;) Katjushka already pointed out that I and the original poster didn't listen carefully enough. Tyrion actually said "no one to support you" or something to that effect, which makes a lot of sense, because 1. it's true, 2. it's a nod to Aemon who we saw dead last week. Otherwise my point would have been exactly yours: why even state the obvious?
  2. True, so true! I got your point, once I got to it...
  3. Thank the Red God then for a way-beyond-average poster to finally make that clear to the rest of us
  4. I think we can safely assume that Tyrion knows his history, and knows who Aemon is. And vice versa, IIRC from s1. Dany knows she's the last Targaryen, and we know she knows, and Tyrion knows she knows. So why state the obvious?? It doesn't make a lot of sense within their conversation, really. Except of course to reminding us of dear old Aemon who just happens to have died just last week :ohwell:
  5. He didn't just "not mention" him, though! He specifically made a point of denying his existence, which must have made the audience think of him, and, for example, wonder how Tyrion would have known of his death... or why mention him, indirectly, sort of. Not that it makes any difference for Daenaerys who doesn't know him from Aemon the Dragonknight.... In an ideal world, Ser Barristan should have known of and about Aemon, and told her, too! Forgotten on the wall as he might have been, but "educated" people like Tyrion and Sam did know who he was when they met him. Even Jon did, for Ruhloo's sake... And Selmy had been on the Small Council for years, not to mention him being a contemporary of Aegon/Egg, having been knighted by one of the Duncans (I think), etc. etc. Even more so in the Show timeline, because they removed a generation of Targaryens and made Aemon Dany's great-uncle instead of great-great-uncle. Which would put him and Barristan more or less in the same generation! But that's neither here nor there.... :dunno:
