  1. OMG that's what happens in a week on holiday....   Welcome @Lord Sidious, are there any surviving Strong family members out there? How will they be appointed king? Ser Robert ain't very talkative, last time I was listening and he is not a real Strong, now is he?   Welcome @Little Bird Sansa, when I read his books, there still weren't any Tolkien movies, meaning mine was no particular accomplishment at the time :) ... Yes, I like Game and Swords best among the 5 main series' books. Game is the most dense and poetic, it is packed. Swords is also very dynamic. Feast and Dance should be read the way noted in my signature, for the richest effect.   Welcome @cybervoodoo, have fun and keep reading, it is a very joyful journey!   Welcome @Turumarth,       Of course all of them were written by the same genius author. Even with Victarion you can admire his fearlessness and revel in an utter and complete immersion in stupidity. :-)   Bienvenue @Le Papillon, let's face the long watch and wait together.   Welcome @A-Faceless-Woman, yes, there are lots of things other readers noticed that are worth a second (or third or fourth etc.) read :)   Welcome @IceIceBaby, let the Winds of Winter chill you through :)
  2. Welcome to the forum, @I'mNotAStark, keep reading the books!
  3. Welcome to the forum @Rinko_Oh!
  4. Oh my, in Dance chapter 25 "The Windblown", Quentyn Martell's comrade (eta - see correction by @Jon Flowers, thanks! below - Ser Gerris Drinkwater) the Big Man Archibald Yronwood gets nicknamed Ser Greenguts. Only on my second re-read a tiny bell startet ringing in my mind: Harry Potter, Gringotts (Wizarding Bank).
  5. Welcome to the forum @starvingstatic!
  6. I instantly thought of Dorcas (eta: one out of the three secretaries of Jubal Harshaw) in Stranger in a Strange Land, a science fiction classic by Robert A. Heinlein.
  7. Welcome to the forum @Saint Alia and @TitanCat!
  8. Welcome to the forum @SEMAR!
  9. Hey welcome to the forum @Jacques the Japer!
  10. In some possible future, the forum parser might match the following to the user database and hyperlink the user's profile... twitter does that, iirc.
  11. It tells us the following is a username on the forum.
  12. Welcome @Gwydion of Llewdor and @SwannMadeleine / MadeleineSwann to the forum!
  13. Herzlich willkommen im Forum, @victorie! (Welcome to the forum, @victorie in German language)
  14. Chett is our hero of the A Storm of Swords prologue. There's the "pussymonger" in From Dusk till Dawn who cannot finish a sentence without advertising pussy at least once. I just read he's called "Chet". Until this I had filed Chett as just another alternate spelling for shaite.
  15. @The King Beyond The Fence: you may be, but @King Tyrion I isn't.
  16. Welcome @iseah000, you are missing at least 9/10 of the whole, if not more. So enjoy the books! Keep on reading and having fun, welcome @The King Beyond The Fence! No, you're not :) eta: what did GRRM profess about in HH?
  17. Since A Dance with Dragons has seen the light of publishing about five years ago and also since this thread has reached its last or second last page before closing time, I sugest there'd be no more "Small questions for ADwD v.VI". Let's at least try to direct small questions towards the main series of the pinned Small Questions threads. I so hope that works :)
  18. Welcome @lady medea / Sharon! eta: Welcome @DJIGA! Will look at the videos later. The first one seems to have been banned in Germany. Welcome @Kennelmaster / Steve!
  19. No worries! 8) On the forum we call that ninja'd or :ninja: 'd
  20. Welcome @Touch of Dawn and ++ for the combeinded AFfC and ADwD rereads, I am in the wee chapters of my second combined reread myself.
  21. No, I am very sorry. I had other priorities and on top of that 've taken ill.
