Squire (4/8)

  1. New mega crackpot. Dany's fleet will run into Gendry and his rowboat on the way to Westeros and she will marry him to win support of the Stormlands.
  2. I'm trying to think of a way in which it would be feasible in the novels, and the only way I can plausibly see it happening is if Cersei takes the same actions as she did in this episode, is crowned queen and then flees to Casterly Rock before Aegon and Friends sack KL. Honestly it's a pretty crackpot theory, but it would be entertaining as hell. I mean can you imagine the hilarity that would be a Cersei chapter in which marries Euron?
  3. I really wish show Euron was as interesting as book Euron is. Based on the current political alliances at the end of this episode, I feel as if a Euron + Cersei marriage is a real possibility. The amount of insanity in that power couple would be brilliant to watch.
  4. While that may be possible in the long run (although I pray not), I don't for see it happening anytime soon. They would be foolish to pass up a potential Dany vs Jon conflict, even if it is only temporary. It's a dream scenario for the writers. You have two massively beloved characters, both of whom have been built up over 6 seasons, and now you have a chance to pit the characters and their fan bases against each other and essentially break the internet.
  5. It's incredible how much this episode streamlined the entire narrative. It's evident that the show runners are setting up a war of 1 King & 2 Queens for Season 7 and are trying to divide the audience up into camps (i.e. Team Jon, Team Dany, Team Cersei).
  6. Probably the best finale since Season 1. The only truly bad scene was in Porne with the Queen of Snark, teleporting non-Blackfyre Varys, and the kin slaying, child murdering, line stealing Ellaria.
  7. Meh. Cogman is by far the best writer the show has, so it's frustrating to see him continuously being given mediocre/boring/bad storylines and events for his episodes. Fortunately the next episode will likely be a huge improvement judging by the preview. I fully expect Cogman to nail the Siege of Riverrun as well as what will ultimately be the shows version of "The North Remembers" speech.
  8. Outside of the strange/boring casting and portrayal of Euron Greyjoy and the continued character assassinations of Varys and Jaime, I am really loving how this season is proceeding. All of the Stark children's storylines are being handled superbly thus far in Season 6, and it is wonderful to have them back as the heart and soul of the show. In my opinion Hodor's death will go down as one of the most emotional of the entire show. I was spoiled by the leaks earlier today, and yet my eyes still welled up a bit when watching those final moments. I'm a sucker for sad powerful music and that definetly did it. Here's to hoping that Bryan Cogman can keep the ball rolling in these next two episodes, and maybe, if we are lucky, transform Larry back into Jaime. God I miss Jaime.
  9. Excluding Hardhome, this was easily the best episode since Season 4. After a year in the wilderness, it seems as if the show finally has found its way again. Not a perfect episode by any stretch of the imagination (the scene with Brienne, Davos, and Melisandre was unbearable and I will never excuse their castration of Jaime) but it is definetly a step in the right direction. Here's to cautious optimism and hoping the show can continue the new found momentum through the remainder of the scene. 8/10 Highlights: +Jon/Sansa reunion, the pink letter, almost all of the Wall stuff +Dany actually doing something (cheesy as it was) +Theon and Asha reunion +The Vale +No Dorne
  10. Jaime and Dorne is so much lower than the others. While the other 3 you mentioned were clearly flawed, at least they had solid acting and production values, along with flashes of decent writing.
  11. What's funny is that the ship had barely even left. They could literally just turn around, go back to Dorne and be like wtf Ellaria.
  12. To all the people who were saying they could still redeem Dorne in the finale. Well they didn't.
  13. Who was the blonde man who went to Dorne with Bronn this season? God knows that wasn't Jaime Lannister.
  14. It's ironic how after killing his father in the books Tyrion becomes a much darker character and yet after killing his father in the show he has somehow been transformed into a idealistic saint. Even saying idealist and Tyrion in same sentence makes me sick to my stomach
  15. It's absurd how bad the entire Dorne arc has been this season. I hoenstly don't think it has had a single redeeming quality outside of Tyene's boobs. I'm just praying it doesn't appear in the finale. I originally wanted the "Fire and Blood" speech becasue of how amazing it is in the books, but now all I want is to get out of Dorne ASAP and never ever go back.
