  1. 10/10, -1 for the dreadfort filler. So a 9/10 overall. A very very good episode anyway.
  2. Thats indeed very true. They should have invested MUCH more in that show, after the sucess of the first 2 seasons. That they STILL were to cheap to make stuff like the battle at the fist, is very sad. "Look we won" isnt a good way to "show" a battle. In this episode it was the "they surrendered"-thing from the Dany-arc. It started GREAT and then... CUT - next scene - "We won" Why was the episode only 53 minutes? About 4 More minutes, and they could have made it much less confusing and frustrating. But well... its most often like that: The cashcow gets milked like crazy, but only fed enough, so it doesnt die.
  3. Nah... that just doesnt sound right. I must admit, it seems to me that this scene is a huuuuge mistake. He must have heard all his life "you are a Baratheon"... to suddenly speek of himself as a Lannister... because of some letter from Stannis? Thats very unlikely.
  4. A very good episode. Especially after the last two episode, it seems, like finally something happened. Yes, some scenes could have been made even better, but I would say, that I am really happy with this episode.
  5. Indeed. That was VERY bad. :D To her defense, I think it wouldnt have been such an extremly bad, boring and usless monolog, If it was done in season 1.
  6. Well, maybe significance was the wrong word. But it just felt to me, that nothing really course-changing happened most of the time. Jon: Walking and talking. (Ygritte is ... REALLY annoying) Robb: 2 infos about Talisa. (And the letter might be a red herring) Sansa: Nothing happened really to change the plot. (Although I like TVmargaery) Tyrion:Nothing happened. And Shae reacted exactly, as most have predicted. (Liked the Bronn-scene though) Melisandre: Nothing important happened either. Just traveling and talking. (Gendry felt a bit stupid... ) Jaime: Wasnt as cool, as I expected. (Still liked it) Arya: Very short. Theon: (No comment -_- ) Bran: Just infos about the characters. The "We dont plan to go to castle black" Is the only significant info here. (Apart from the "hodor" ofc) Daenerys: Liked it. Tywin: Was the boss. Is still the boss. (But still no new info really.) If such an episode came right after E4, then I wouldnt complain... if it were after E5, I would be "setup AGAIN?" But after E6? Hhhhmmm...
  7. Even after a rewatch, I have to say: I am worried. After E4 I was thinking, this was gonna be the best season ever. Then came E5 and I was slightly disappointed, that it couldnt top E4. Then came E6, which was only just good. And now this? Yes, it isnt bad, but it was WAY below my expectations and hopes. The hour went by fast, but somehow I had the feeling, hardly anything significant and interestening happened. If the next one follows that trend, I might stop watching the show and just buy the DVDs and watch it in one go.
  8. Yes, some people see it that way. And characters like the Hound also have much more female fans, than the GRRM would have imagined. But I dont think, thats a problem of the books or the show. It is in general just very difficult to see, what type of impact a grey character is gonna have on people. (Although Tyrion comes of a bit too white in the show maybe...) So you have 2 things: The intention and image of the writer, and the perception of the audience. I mean... who is torturing Theon? Even if you dont know the book, you actually have the hint of the trumpet, the bolton-sigil and the fact, that Lord bolton said, he sends his bastard to free winterfell. They even tell you, he is no no karstark. (So not too much factions left in the show) Now you could say, that it is actually pretty clear who he is. Still, I dont think, most people who watch the show "know". But the intent is clear, that you could know if you really wanted. (But its still not 100% sure) And I guess, that with the sansa-tyrion thing its the same. You arent forced to see, why thats such a bad situation, but you could. But if you arent given the "hint", that Lorras tries to be nice to Sansa, then the "she is better of with tyrion" would be not only the perception, but also the truth.
  9. I think, thats a good way to put it. Its *overall* a bit in the "worrying"-department. But as I said, I was actually quite pleased with the character in this episode. The interaction with sansa was spot on if you ask me. - They will be married soon, so weddings are a fitting toppic. - You can see, that his personal point interest lie more in the tournament/fighting - He is nice enough to try to talk about stuff, she might be interested in.* - As he isnt used to this type of conversation, so he comes off a bit clumsy. *To go on about tourneys or something, would have been an option, but then he would have come of much more egoistic. If he was just a Hound in white armor, then people would have been: "Sansa is better of with Tyrion"
  10. 1. I have to admit, that I see this as a bad decision from the showwriters too. 2. He clearly wasnt in his element. Even, if you are intelligent, you will struggle a bit in new situations. BUT he tied to be nice and even realized what topics he should avoid, and what might be of interest for such a girl.
  11. Well... not at all. Sure, they didnt make him as though as some people wanted him to be. And the part where he was stupid, just to serve the plot, was bad indeed. But in this episode, he was neither an idiot nor a stereotype. If you look at the character overall, it might indeed go dangeously in that direction, but its still miles away from "insulting and offensive".
  12. Well, I think that scene with Loras Tyrell was done very well. It didnt seem to me, that he was totally a fan of dresses ect. it was more that he was trying to have a nice warm conversation with a poor girl which he is totally not interested in. (But will soon have to marry) For me, the actor clearly tried to experess, that he would have rather talked about the tournament, than the dresses. -> But was intelligent enough to realize, that this wouldnt be a nice topic for a little girl. This matches perfectly with how Margaery ties to interact with Joffrey. (No, she isnt totally into tombs and crossbows either...)
  13. I think it makes sense. It isnt about the gold. Its most of all because the "lord of light" demands it. (And if he brings you back to life 6 times, its hard to be a no-beleiver) If someone would have just come there and were like: "Here some gold. Now give me Gendry.", then the anwer would have been: "F*** off." or worse. But in that situation, the gold was more to sweeten the deal. And even then, they didnt really like it. (Its more like Arya thinks its just about the gold)
  14. I dont know, why people complain so much. :P It was a good episode, even though, it wasnt stellar. And the killing of ros was very important. They dont want to tell us, that Joffrey is an evil person. Everyone knows. They want to tell us, that he *still* is a danger to everyone around him and the realm. After all, people might have begun to think, that Margaery has some sort of controll of him.
