I think I'm getting in over my head a bit. :) I'm sketchy on the timeline of events, but I think Cersei will probably try to postpone it, though I suppose it is somewhat doubtful she could hold out against Tywin for that long. Was Cersei ever actually engaged to anyone in the books? If not, then the whole situation is unprecedented and I wouldn't doubt they'll go through with it, even if it means Loras won't be on the Kingsguard. I think I was reading speculation on how Loras was going to get on the Kingsguard at all when he wasn't appointed after the Blackwater, but that doesn't strictly need to happen ever.

That seems reasonable. I've seen people suggest Cersei will appoint Loras to the Kingsguard to avoid marrying him, but this creates a plothole because Loras is apparently the only heir to Highgarden in show canon. This is what initially made me think that they might just go through with the wedding and avoid the whole conflict. ETA: Ah, yes, I did remember that Cersei was expected to remarry in the books, but I didn't recall how she eventually got out of it. Perhaps it will play out the same way, then. Maybe they'll just skip over Loras being appointed to the Kingsguard? Forgive me, I'm currently rereading the books for the first time and don't recall too much. :P

I have been wondering about this for some time now. The producers have shown that they don't mind changing the plot around a bit, and as far as I can remember Loras' plot, having them marry wouldn't be any larger of a change than the current Mel + Gendry plot (I'm sure that there are book purists that will say this is incorrect, but anyways). I honestly think it could go either way. Most book readers are assuming they won't be married because it doesn't happen in the books, but I wouldn't put it past them to go through with the wedding just to shock book readers. So yeah, I think it's a possibility.

That was part of the synopsis for THIS episode. I also thought Coldhands was gonna be in this episode.

Two moments that I really appreciated were when Tyrion gave the gold chain to Shae and when Margaery basically admitted to her sexual experiences. I thought they were pretty good ways to set up future events. Regarding Talisa... I can't decide if they (i.e. the writers) made her pregnant because they're going to keep her alive and add another complicating plotline, or they just want her to be more sympathetic when they kill her off. :dunno: I'm hoping for the latter, though.

Well, this seems like a good place for a first post. Hello everyone! I'm a college student from the U.S. I first read the series about two years ago, and I caught up with the show in time to watch season three as it comes out. Now that the semester has ended I am about to embark on my first re-read of the books. I thought it would be great to talk to other fans while I read, so here I am! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. :)
